Class approval is not the same as a test certificate

A hose can be pressure tested, documented and entirely fit for purpose and still be refused by a surveyor because the type is not approved by the class society that vessel is registered with. Type approval attaches to the product and is granted by the society; a test certificate attaches to the individual assembly. Both may be needed and they are not substitutes. Where a line is in a certified system, tell us which society applies before we quote, because it narrows what is acceptable in a way that no amount of testing after the fact can widen.
