Supplying Equatorial Guinea, in detail

Do the documents for Equatorial Guinea have to be in Spanish?

Yes. Spanish is the working language of customs in Equatorial Guinea, and a loosely translated description is the commonest reason a consignment sits in Malabo. We prepare the invoice, packing list and certificate of origin as one consistent set, with the technical description of each item agreed at quotation, so the Spanish wording matches what is physically in the container.

How long does shipping from Dubai to Malabo take?

Sea freight from Jebel Ali to Malabo typically takes 30–36 days from dispatch, because the routing is around the Cape of Good Hope. Deliveries to Bata, direct or by coastal feeder, run 32–38 days. Where a line is down, air freight from DXB to Malabo (SSG) takes six to eight days and is quoted per shipment.

Should my order ship to Malabo or Bata?

Ship to Malabo for anything on Bioko island, including the Punta Europa gas plants and the offshore supply bases. Ship to Bata where the delivery is on the mainland, around Bata, Mongomo or Ebebiyín, since it saves a transfer between the island and the continental region. Tell us the final site at enquiry and we route the consignment accordingly.

Which documents do you prepare for customs in Equatorial Guinea?

We prepare the invoice and packing list in Spanish, arrange pre-shipment verification for regulated goods before the vessel sails, and supply a certificate of origin attested by the Dubai Chamber and legalised where required. The carrier issues the bill of lading on loading, and material and test certificates are included where the order calls for them.

Can you supply the LNG and methanol plants at Punta Europa?

Yes, as a supplier to the operating or maintenance contractor. We supply API-rated valves, SS316L instrumentation fittings and process hose with material certificates. For gas duty we specify hose against the medium, pressure and depressurisation rate, because rapid decompression damages elastomers that are rated only for pressure.

Can you supply offshore work on fields such as Zafiro and Alba?

Yes. We supply API 6A and API 16C rated equipment, with NACE MR0175 documentation where the contract requires it, for platform and well-intervention work offshore Bioko. We supply TechnipFMC, Cameron (SLB), SPM, Anson, Stream-Flo and WOM equipment, alongside high-pressure hose and fittings, shipped to Malabo for the supply bases.

What hose should be used for hydrocarbon gas service?

Use hose built for gas duty, not hose that merely meets the pressure figure. Gas permeates elastomers, and when pressure drops quickly the gas in the tube wall expands and tears it from the inside: explosive decompression. Composite and PTFE-lined constructions address different parts of that problem. Give us the medium, the working pressure and how fast the system depressurises, and we specify against all three.

Can you deliver to Luba or to a site inland?

Yes. Besides CIF Malabo we quote DAP to the buyer’s site, so a consignment can be delivered to Luba on Bioko or to a mainland site beyond Bata. The onward leg from the port is priced in the quotation rather than estimated, and the Spanish document set names the final consignee from the start.

Do you make up hose assemblies to length before shipping?

Yes. Hydraulic hose assemblies are cut, crimped and pressure-tested in Dubai and shipped as finished items, each tagged with the hose, the fittings and the test date. That avoids making up assemblies locally with whatever crimp dies are available, and the tag lets a maintenance team on Bioko reorder an identical assembly from its part number.

Which standards can you supply to for Equatorial Guinea projects?

We supply valves and wellhead equipment to API 6A and API 16C, with NACE MR0175 material documentation for sour service, hydraulic hose to SAE J517 and EN 853/856 constructions, and stainless fittings in SS316L with mill certificates. Tell us the standard written in your contract or purchase order and we confirm at quotation which items carry which certificate.
