UY

Hydraulic & industrial hose supplier in Uruguay

Indus Hydraulics ships hydraulic hose, fittings, valves and industrial hose from Dubai to Uruguay by sea round the Cape into Montevideo, or Nueva Palmira for river-bound cargo, and by air into Montevideo. Goods staying in Uruguay clear on a short Spanish file with an attested certificate of origin. What makes the lane distinctive is the free-port regime: cargo for Paraguay or Bolivia can be landed, stored and consolidated at Montevideo without entering Uruguayan customs territory — so tell us at quotation whether goods are staying or passing through.

How an order to Uruguay works

  1. 01Send the part numbers, or the bore, thread and pressure if you do not have them. A photo of the failed part is usually enough.
  2. 02We quote in USD against real stock, with the Incoterm stated on the Estimate rather than assumed.
  3. 03Where the cargo is transhipping onward the free-port documentation is arranged so it never enters customs territory; where it is staying, the ordinary declaration is prepared.
  4. 04Goods sail from Jebel Ali round the Cape, and you get the paperwork and tracking together.

Questions we get asked

Supplying Uruguay, in detail

01

Does the free-port regime matter if our goods are staying in Uruguay?

No — it only matters for cargo moving on. The free-port regime lets goods be landed, stored, consolidated and re-dispatched at Montevideo without entering Uruguayan customs territory. If your consignment is for a Uruguayan site it clears on an ordinary customs declaration and the regime makes no difference. If it is going on to Paraguay or Bolivia, it is the main reason to route through Montevideo at all.

02

Can Montevideo serve as the assembly point for cargo going on to Paraguay or Bolivia?

Yes, and it is often the right answer for the river markets. A consignment assembled under free-port storage and re-dispatched once travels better than several small ones arriving separately, each with its own paperwork. Uruguay is where a great deal of Paraguayan and Bolivian cargo is put together, and the free-port storage documentation is issued by the port operator on arrival.

03

Why must a transhipment through Montevideo be declared at quotation?

Because the documentation is different from the outset and the two routes are not interchangeable after the fact. A consignment declared for import and then re-exported is a far more expensive way to reach the same place than one documented for free-port storage from the start. Saying which applies at the order also lets us pack and label for a later break-down.

04

When is Nueva Palmira a better entry than Montevideo?

When the cargo is river-bound and the barge connection there beats trucking from the capital. Montevideo handles almost everything, including goods for Uruguayan sites and free-port consolidation. Nueva Palmira, at the mouth of the Uruguay river in Colonia, is used for cargo heading upriver, and we confirm the routing at quotation against the final destination.

05

What sea transit should we plan between Jebel Ali and Montevideo?

Typically 33 to 42 days by FCL from dispatch, sailing round the Cape of Good Hope; consolidated LCL with transhipment runs 40 to 52 days. Documents are prepared before the vessel sails. For planned maintenance and mill shutdowns that is the lane to use, ordering against the outage date rather than the failure.

06

Can you supply hydraulics for the pulp mills at Fray Bentos, Paso de los Toros and Punta Pereira?

Yes — hose, fittings, valves and assemblies for mill hydraulics, log handling and the forestry harvesters and forwarders working the eucalyptus plantations that feed them. Tell us the equipment, fluid, pressure and temperature, and the shutdown date. Mill outages are planned well ahead, which suits a sea lane of five to six weeks; anything found during the outage can follow by air.

07

What does Uruguayan customs need for hose and fittings staying in the country?

A short file. No general pre-shipment conformity scheme applies to industrial hose and fittings, so the importer’s customs declaration through Aduanas is lodged against our invoice and Spanish packing list, with a Dubai Chamber attested certificate of origin. The description has to agree across the invoice, packing list and declaration; material and test certificates are added where the order calls for them.

08

Is air freight into Carrasco an option for an urgent part in Uruguay?

Yes. Air freight from Dubai to Montevideo Carrasco (MVD) takes 5 to 8 days with a connection, against 33 to 42 days by sea. It suits a failed assembly on a mill, crane or harvester; the file is the same as for sea cargo staying in Uruguay. We price air and sea against the same line list so urgent lines can fly while the rest sails.

09

Can harvester and log-loader hose for Uruguayan plantations arrive crimped and tagged?

Yes, crimped in Dubai, pressure-tested and tagged before packing. For harvesters, forwarders, log loaders and terminal cranes, send the bore, thread, working pressure and the length between fitting faces, or the part number on the old assembly ferrule. Assemblies arrive ready to fit, which matters when the machine is in a plantation far from a workshop.

10

Can you supply terminal hydraulics for the container and grain terminals at Montevideo and Nueva Palmira?

Yes — hose, fittings, valves and assemblies for ship-to-shore and mobile cranes, reach stackers, grain handling and the tugs and barges that work the terminals. Terminal maintenance is mostly planned, so a scheduled sea consignment into Montevideo is the efficient route, with air freight kept for breakdowns.

11

How do we request a combined quote for a Uruguayan site and an onward Paraguayan consignment?

Send both line lists and say which goods stay in Uruguay and which move on. We document the domestic portion for an ordinary declaration and the onward portion for free-port storage, quoting CIF Montevideo, DAP to site, FOB Jebel Ali or EXW Dubai as each part requires. Splitting it this way at quotation avoids re-documenting cargo later.
