Supplying Slovenia, in detail

Why does a Koper sailing beat Hamburg for a central European delivery?

Because the vessel turns north into the Adriatic after Suez instead of carrying on past Gibraltar and up the Atlantic. Koper is typically 17–23 days from Jebel Ali, and for delivery in Slovenia, Austria, Hungary or southern Germany that saves most of a week over Hamburg or Rotterdam. Once entered at Koper, the onward road leg within the customs union is domestic movement, quoted to the delivery address.

Koper or Trieste — does it matter for a delivery in Slovenia?

Usually not, and Koper is the default. Trieste is used where a berth or a sailing suits the schedule better, and the road leg into Slovenia is short either way. Either port gives one entry into free circulation, raised by the importer, so the choice is about the earliest arrival rather than paperwork. We pick the port against your delivery date and quote DAP to your site.

We supply a tier-one assembler — will you tell us if a hose construction changes between orders?

Yes, before shipping, not after. If a manufacturer has changed a construction, compound or fitting since your last order, we flag it at quotation and let you decide, rather than substituting silently. The same file states whether each assembly sits above the PED 2014/68/EU threshold, with our declaration of conformity travelling with the goods, and gives our REACH position on the elastomer compounds supplied.

What happens when a manufacturer discontinues a hose construction we have qualified?

We tell you what replaces it and how the two differ — reinforcement, cover, compound, bend radius, fitting interface — so your quality team can requalify on their terms instead of finding out from a changed layline. Where the old construction can still be sourced for a final order, we say so, so you can bridge the requalification period.

Can repeat orders for a production line be built identically every time?

Yes. Give each assembly a drawing or part number of your own and we build to it — same hose, same fittings, same cut length and orientation, same tag — and keep the record against your reference. If any component cannot be repeated exactly, we raise it at quotation. For appliance and automotive suppliers around Velenje and Novo Mesto, that is the difference between a routine delivery and a deviation report.

Do you supply the Velenje lignite mine and the Šoštanj power station?

Yes — dust-rated, high-cycle hose assemblies, fittings and cylinders for underground and surface mining equipment, and actuator and governor hydraulics for the thermal plant next door. Goods sail to Koper and are delivered by road on DAP terms into the Šalek valley. Send the machine data plates or the old assembly’s markings and we match the fitting standard rather than approximating it.

What do you need to match a cylinder or servo valve on the Jesenice or Ravne mills?

The data plate, the drawing or the original part number, plus the fluid the circuit runs on. High-force cylinders and servo valves for special-steel and plate mills are matched to the original rather than approximated, and hose assemblies are built for the plant’s working pressure and temperature. Goods land at Koper and go on by road to Upper Carniola or Koroška on DAP terms.

Do you supply hydraulics for terminal cranes and tugs at Luka Koper?

Yes. Hose assemblies made up to length, fittings, adapters and cylinders for ship-to-shore cranes, reach stackers, terminal tractors and harbour tugs are delivered direct to the terminal, since the goods arrive at the same port. Send the machine make and model or the old assembly’s markings; for a crane that is stopped, air freight to Ljubljana in 2–4 days can be quoted alongside the sea option.

Do you supply tunnelling hydraulics for the second Divača–Koper rail track?

We supply the hose, fittings and cylinders that drill jumbos, shotcrete rigs, excavators and cranes on rail and tunnelling works use, made up to length in Dubai and delivered to site from Koper on DAP terms. Send the machine make and model and the fitting standard; rock tunnelling is hard on hose, so tell us the duty and we will recommend the cover and protective sleeving.

Does an air shipment for a stopped Slovenian line come in through Ljubljana?

Yes. Air freight from Dubai to Ljubljana Airport goes with a connection and takes typically 2–4 days, and most Slovenian plants are within a short drive of the airport. It earns its cost on a single critical assembly; planned orders go by sea to Koper in 17–23 days. The Certificate of Origin and any PED declaration travel with the air shipment exactly as they would by sea.
