One process, two opposite environments

A plant that both extracts and processes puts hydraulics through mining duty at one end and thermal duty at the other, and the specification that suits one is wrong for the other. Standardising across the site on a single hose to simplify stores is a false economy: the mining end wears out a hose built for heat and the process end cooks a hose built for abrasion. Two specifications and clear identification is the better answer, and it need not mean two suppliers or two stock accounts. Tell us where each assembly lives.
