Supplying Romania, in detail

Our cargo continues from Constanța to Moldova or Serbia — what changes?

The file does. A box continuing to Chișinău or Belgrade needs a transit declaration raised by the forwarder at Constanța before the onward leg, and that is set up from the outset. Retro-fitting one after the goods have been entered for Romanian free circulation is the expensive way round, so tell us the final destination at enquiry and we prepare the documents to match.

Does a modern CE-declared assembly fit Romanian plant built to a superseded standard?

Not automatically — the declaration covers conformity, not fit. For an assembly above the PED 2014/68/EU threshold our declaration of conformity travels with the goods, below it sound engineering practice applies, and every consignment carries our REACH position and a Dubai Chamber-attested Certificate of Origin. But older Ploiești or Midia plant may have ports to a since-replaced thread or seat, so send measurements and we confirm the mating ends before quoting.

Our old pump has a thread that looks standard but leaks with a new fitting — what should we send?

Measurements, not a cross-reference: the thread pitch, the seat angle and the sealing method taken from the component in hand. Much Romanian oilfield and refinery plant was built to standards since superseded, and a nominally identical thread can differ in pitch or seat, so a modern part engages and then leaks. We identify what actually mates with it, including where the honest answer is an adapter.

Can you supply wellhead and valve parts for mature onshore wells built to older API editions?

Yes, matched by measurement as well as by specification. Older wellheads around Ploiești and in the other onshore basins often carry connections from earlier API editions, so send nameplate data and dimensions with the enquiry. We supply TechnipFMC, Cameron (SLB), SPM, Anson, Stream-Flo and WOM equipment, and where a current part will not mate we say so and quote the adapter instead.

Can heavy spares for the Galați steelworks or the Iron Gates plant travel by Danube barge?

Yes, where the item is heavy or project-sized. Sea to Constanța and Danube barge upriver typically takes 24–32 days, with Galați and Brăila handling the barge traffic, and it suits mill cylinders, large valves or turbine-hall items that are awkward by road. For containerised spares the sea lane to Constanța, typically 18–24 days, followed by road is faster, and we say at quotation which suits.

Does a plant in Timișoara, Cluj or Iași still receive goods through Constanța?

Usually yes. Constanța is the default port for Romania, typically 18–24 days by sea from Jebel Ali, and on DAP terms the road leg to Bucharest, Cluj, Timișoara, Iași or Arad is domestic movement priced with the order rather than left at the quay. For a stopped line anywhere in the country, air freight into Bucharest typically takes 2–4 days.

How do goods landed at Constanța reach the yards at Tulcea, Galați and Mangalia?

By road from the quay, or by barge for heavy items. Once the importer has entered the goods at Constanța, the run to Mangalia or Tulcea is a short domestic road leg priced with the order on DAP terms, and Galați and Brăila can also be reached by Danube barge for project cargo. Send the vessel equipment and existing assembly data for deck machinery, steering or crane hydraulics.

Do you supply hydraulics for track machines and rail works on the Romanian network?

Yes — hose, fittings and assemblies for tamping, ballast and track-renewal machines and for the cranes and excavators on rail and motorway contracts. These fleets are often a mix of Western and older Eastern-built machines, so send the machine make, model and the existing assembly data or measurements. Consignments land at Constanța and on DAP terms travel on to the depot or site by road.

Do you supply hydraulics for ship loaders and port cranes at Constanța’s grain and bulk terminals?

Yes — slewing, luffing and grab hydraulics for ship loaders, unloaders and port cranes, plus hose for the conveyors that feed them. Because these terminals sit at Constanța itself, a consignment can be delivered straight from the quay once the importer has entered it, typically 18–24 days from Jebel Ali. Send the crane or loader model and existing assembly data and we quote to it.

What hose do the Oltenia lignite mines need on bucket-wheel excavators and conveyors?

Dust-rated, high-cycle hose with abrasion-resistant covers and fittings that tolerate constant vibration and outdoor temperature swings. Bucket-wheel excavators, spreaders and conveyor drives around Rovinari and Motru run long duty hours in fine dust, and the cost of a failure is the stopped line. Tell us the machine, the line position and the temperature range, and we quote to that duty.

Do you supply lay flat hose to Romania?

Yes. TPU and NBR lay flat hose goes to Romania for mine and construction dewatering, oilfield water transfer and irrigation, and TPU riser hose for borehole pumps, with couplings sized to the hose. Hose ships from Dubai as bulk coils up to 400 m or as made-up assemblies with couplings fitted, with the size table and pressure rating for each bore.
