A superseded standard is not the same as no standard

Old equipment was built correctly to a specification that has since been replaced, and the modern equivalent frequently differs in a dimension that matters. A thread that is nominally the same size may have a different pitch or a different seat angle than it did decades ago, and the current part will engage and then leak. The way through is measurement rather than cross-reference: pitch, seat and sealing method taken from the component in hand. Send those and we will identify what actually mates with it, including where the honest answer is an adapter rather than a match.
