Supplying Lithuania, in detail

Does a January sailing to Klaipėda cost more than a summer one?

Not because of ice. Klaipėda is the northernmost ice-free port on the eastern Baltic, so a winter consignment arrives on the same terms as a June one — no ice-class requirement, no assistance surcharge, no waiting on an icebreaker. Further north on this coast those can apply between roughly December and April. Freight rates themselves still move with the market, and each quotation carries the current figure.

Will our cargo ever move overland through Belarus or Kaliningrad?

No. Both are on our compliance-hold list and we route through neither, whatever the distance suggests. The lane runs by sea through Suez and the Baltic into Klaipėda, or by air into Vilnius, and stops at the Lithuanian border. Delivery onward inside Lithuania is by road on DAP terms, priced with the order.

What do you need from us to quote hose for Mažeikiai refinery service?

The medium, its temperature and concentration, and the working pressure — not just the part number, because a compound correct for one stream is wrong for another. With those we issue a chemical compatibility statement for the named medium at quotation, specify the hose and the end fittings together, and prepare the PED declaration where the assembly is above threshold.

Which fittings survive ammonium nitrate and urea solutions at a fertiliser plant?

That depends on the exact compound and its concentration rather than on the word fertiliser. These solutions attack carbon steel steadily and are hard on several stainless grades too, and the damage usually appears at the fitting, because that is where the metal is. Send the product and its strength and we specify the tube, cover and end fittings as one assembly, with a compatibility statement for that medium.

Does a refinery assembly get a PED declaration as well as the compatibility statement?

Both, where the assembly is above the pressure-volume threshold in PED 2014/68/EU. The compatibility statement for the named medium is issued at quotation; the declaration of conformity is issued by us as the assembler before dispatch and travels with the goods to Klaipėda. Below the threshold sound engineering practice applies and there is no CE mark, but the compatibility statement still covers the medium.

How does a consignment get from Klaipėda to Vilnius or Kaunas?

By road, after the importer has entered the goods into free circulation through Lithuanian Customs at Klaipėda. On DAP terms we price that road leg with the order, so the quotation runs to your site in Vilnius, Kaunas, Mažeikiai or Šiauliai rather than stopping at the quay. For an urgent part, air freight into Vilnius takes 2–4 days.

Why does LCL to Klaipėda take longer than a full container?

Because a part load is consolidated through a North Sea hub and then carried on by feeder, which adds handling and a second sailing. A full container runs Jebel Ali to Klaipėda in about 27–35 days; LCL typically takes 33–43 days. For a small mixed order LCL still makes sense on cost, and we tell you at quotation when the volume justifies a full box.

Can you supply hydraulics for Klaipėda container, bulk and ro-ro terminals?

Yes — crane, spreader, conveyor and ro-ro ramp hydraulics specified for salt, cold and continuous outdoor duty, made up to length with the fitting ends your equipment uses. Cover material matters as much as the reinforcement on a quay. Send the equipment model or the old assembly’s markings, and the consignment comes straight into Klaipėda by sea.

Do you supply industrial hose for loading fertiliser and liquid bulk at Klaipėda?

Yes. Prilled product adds abrasion on top of chemical attack, so for bulk loading we specify a tube that resists both and couplings in a material that suits the cargo. For liquid fertiliser and chemical transfer, name the product and concentration and we confirm compatibility at quotation. Large-bore assemblies are built to the length your loading arm or hopper needs.

Can you supply hydraulics for wind-farm cranes and turbine service in Lithuania?

For the hydraulic side, yes: hose assemblies, fittings and adapters for the crawler and mobile cranes used in turbine erection, and replacement hose for hydraulic pitch, yaw-brake and service tools where the turbine uses them. Send the crane or turbine model and the fitting ends; we confirm the pattern before quoting and ship by sea to Klaipėda, or by air to Vilnius when a crane is standing.
