Supplying Albania, in detail

Can you supply hose for heavy-oil duty at Patos-Marinza?

Yes, and it is what most of this lane carries. Heavy oil is harder on a hose than its pressure rating suggests — abrasion at the cover, temperature at the bore, and cycle life under repeated workover. A hose chosen on bore and working pressure alone is the wrong hose there. Tell us the duty and we specify against it, with the cover, temperature and cycle stated on the quotation.

Which lines on a Patos-Marinza order need NACE MR0175 documentation?

The ones the contract puts in sour service — we confirm them line by line at quotation rather than after a rejection. NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 material documentation is supplied where the contract requires it, with material and test certificates from the mill or our test bench, and it travels to Durrës with the goods and the Dubai Chamber-attested Certificate of Origin. Mark the sour-service lines on your enquiry.

Do Albanian imports clear in one step, or through a neighbour first?

In one step. Albania is outside the EU customs union but has its own port, so the importer makes a single entry through the General Directorate of Customs at Durrës, rather than inheriting a transit from a neighbour plus a border declaration. There is no blanket pre-shipment conformity scheme for industrial hose and fittings; what travels with the goods is the material documentation the field asks for.

Why does cargo for Durrës tranship rather than sail direct?

Because Durrës does not take a mainline call from the Gulf. Cargo from Jebel Ali tranships in the Mediterranean and waits for a feeder up the Adriatic, which is why a full container takes typically 20–28 days. We build the consignment around the connection and send the paperwork and tracking together.

How do goods get from the quay at Durrës to a wellsite near Patos?

By road, on DAP terms to the field or the base at Patos or Fier. The road leg south from Durrës is short and it is priced with the order. For the southern fields, Vlorë can be the better port of discharge, and we compare it with Durrës at quotation.

Do you carry spares for the older wellheads on Albania’s onshore fields?

Often, if we can identify the equipment. Send the make, the API 6A size and pressure class, and the nameplate or part number, and we quote valves, chokes, seal kits and flow iron to match, alongside the hose and fittings on the same consignment. We supply TechnipFMC, Cameron (SLB), SPM, Anson, Stream-Flo and WOM equipment, with material and sour-service documentation where the field specification calls for it.

Our machine came second-hand without a parts list — how do we identify a fitting?

Measure it rather than describe it. Across the flats of the hex, the outside diameter of the thread, whether the seat is cone or flat, and the overall length between end faces identify most fittings unambiguously. Send those four numbers and a photograph, and we match the connection — metric, BSP, JIC or NPT — and quote a complete assembly made up to length.

Why does a small mixed order to Durrës take up to 36 days?

Because it travels consolidated, with two transhipments. LCL from Jebel Ali to Durrës runs typically 26–36 days, against 20–28 for a full container, since the consolidated cargo waits at each transfer. For a few cartons that is still usually the economical answer; for a single urgent item, air into Tirana takes typically 3–5 days.

Which lifting gear is worth sending with a workover package for Patos-Marinza?

The slings, shackles, hooks and master links the rig-up plan actually names, sized to its working load limits. We supply wire rope and chain slings and lifting accessories marked with their working load limit and with the manufacturer’s test certificates the order calls for, listed on the same invoice and packing list as the oilfield lines. We confirm the document set at quotation; examination on site stays with your appointed lifting inspector.

Do you supply drill and hoist hydraulics for the chrome mines around Bulqizë?

Yes. Hose assemblies with abrasion-resistant covers, fittings, valves and cylinder seals for drills, loaders, hoists and crushers in chrome mining, made up to length and pressure-tested in Dubai. Send the machine, circuit and working pressure; delivery is DAP to the mine or a yard in Tirana or Durrës.
