Supplying Poland, in detail

Does a container to Gdańsk tranship on the way from Dubai?

Not at a Baltic feeder hub. Gdańsk takes mainline calls rather than feeders, so an FCL container from Jebel Ali reaches Poland without the transhipment wait the smaller Baltic ports add, typically 26–34 days from dispatch. That is why Gdańsk works as the gate for the wider region. Gdynia and Szczecin are used where the berth or the inland leg suits the delivery better.

What should we tell you about a Silesian longwall application?

The duty first: the fluid, the cycle rate, the bend radius in the installation and how abrasive the environment is. Underground coal is abrasion and dust before it is pressure, so cover material and cycle life decide the service interval more than the burst rating does. With that we confirm an abrasion and dust specification at quotation rather than matching bore and pressure from a catalogue.

Our roof supports run on water emulsion — does that change the fittings?

Yes, and it is the first fact we need. Mineral oil leaves a film that protects steel from the inside; a high-water-content emulsion does not, so a fitting specified for oil service starts corroding where nobody can see it. Fitting material, plating and seal compounds have to suit the fluid as well as the pressure, and on roof supports a corroded fitting fails suddenly.

Is Koper ever faster than Gdańsk for Kraków or Katowice?

Sometimes. Koper is a shorter sea leg out of Suez followed by a longer road move, about 22–30 days to the south of Poland, against 26–34 days into Gdańsk before the inland leg. For Kraków and the Silesian belt the two can be close, so we compare them against the delivery town at quotation rather than assuming the home port.

Is a PED declaration the only conformity paper for a Polish mine order?

Not always, so we state it per order. Above the pressure-volume threshold in PED 2014/68/EU the declaration of conformity is issued by us as the assembler and travels with the goods; below it, sound engineering practice applies and there is no CE mark. For mining service we add the abrasion and dust specification at quotation. Any further document your mine names, we confirm at quotation.

Do you supply hydraulics for the copper mines and smelters around Lubin and Głogów?

Yes — hose assemblies, fittings, adapters and valves for underground loaders, drill rigs and roof bolters, and high-force cylinder and servo-valve spares for smelter and processing plant. Copper-belt duty is heat, abrasion and dust, so we specify covers and compounds to it. Lower Silesia is usually served through Gdańsk or Szczecin, with DAP delivery to the mine or plant.

Do you supply hose and valves for Płock and Gdańsk refinery turnarounds?

Yes — industrial hose, hose assemblies, valves and fittings specified against the medium, temperature and pressure of each stream. Because sea freight to Gdańsk runs 26–34 days, a turnaround list is best sent well before the shutdown window so it can travel as one consignment, with air freight into Warsaw for late additions. The PED declaration is prepared where an assembly is above threshold.

Which port should a delivery to Poznań or Wrocław come through?

Usually Gdańsk, with Szczecin where the inland leg to western Poland is shorter, and Koper where a southern delivery point makes the Adriatic competitive. Once the importer has entered the goods into free circulation through Polish Customs, the road leg to Poznań, Wrocław or Łódź is domestic movement, priced with the order on DAP terms.

Can hose sets for Bełchatów and Turów excavators come labelled by position?

Yes. Bucket-wheel excavators, spreaders, conveyors and dozers in open-cast lignite work in dust, mud and frost, so we build assemblies to length with abrasion-resistant covers and low-temperature compounds, cap them and label each one to its position on the machine. Send the machine and circuit, or the old assembly’s markings, and we quote the set rather than the single line.

Can you match the make of wellhead already installed on a Polish gas well?

Usually, yes. For onshore gas and oil production in the Polish Lowlands and the Carpathian foreland we supply TechnipFMC, Cameron (SLB), SPM, Anson, Stream-Flo and WOM equipment — gate valves, chokes, flow iron and wellhead parts built to API 6A. Send the nameplate data, pressure class, size and service from the installed equipment, and we confirm the match and the document set at quotation.

Do you supply lay flat hose for mine dewatering in Poland?

Yes. TPU and heavy-duty NBR lay flat hose goes to Poland for mine and construction dewatering, with rigid-helix suction hose, high-pressure couplings for pumped mains, and slurry supply and drag hose for agricultural contractors. Hose ships from Dubai as bulk coils up to 400 m or as made-up assemblies with couplings fitted, with the size table and pressure rating for each bore.
