Supplying Kosovo, in detail

For a Kosovo delivery, does Durrës or Thessaloniki land cheaper?

It depends on the delivery town, which is unusual. The Durrës corridor east through Vërmicë and the Thessaloniki corridor north both run typically 22–30 days and are close in cost, so Prizren and Gjakova usually lean west while Ferizaj and Gjilan lean south. We price both on every order rather than defaulting to one, because the difference is a real share of the landed cost.

How is a delivery to Trepça or the Obiliq stations priced and cleared?

Priced DAP to the mine or plant gate, with the short road leg from Pristina included in the order. It is cleared on two declarations — the transit declaration raised by the forwarder and the Kosovo customs entry — built from the same invoice and packing list, so they agree line for line at the crossing and the truck is not held there.

Which hose holds up on lignite conveyors, crushers and stacker-reclaimers?

Hose with an abrasion-resistant cover in a dust-rated assembly. Lignite dust and continuous running wear the outside of a hose long before the pressure rating is reached, especially on conveyor drives, crushers and stacker-reclaimers. Tell us the duty, not only the part number, and we specify spiral hose to EN 856 or SAE J517, made up to length with the fittings the machine was built with.

On a mine that never stops, which spares should we hold?

The few assemblies whose failure stops everything downstream. On continuous excavation and conveying, one hose can hold up a whole production chain, so its value is not its price. Following the process rather than the equipment list identifies those items, and the list is usually shorter than expected. We work through it with you and quote the critical spares as one consignment.

Can critical spares for the Obiliq stations be packed as one kit per machine?

Yes. Once the critical list is agreed, each assembly is made up to length, pressure-tested in Dubai and tagged with the machine and its position on it, then packed by machine rather than by part number. A shift crew changing a hose on a conveyor drive or stacker-reclaimer then finds the right assembly without searching a mixed crate. The kits travel on one transit declaration to the plant gate.

What does Kosovo Customs need to see when the truck reaches the border?

A Kosovo customs import declaration, lodged by the importer, that matches the transit declaration raised by the forwarder at Durrës or Thessaloniki line for line, with a Dubai Chamber-attested Certificate of Origin and any material and test certificates the specification calls for. There is no blanket pre-shipment conformity scheme for industrial hose and fittings; what has to be right is that the two declarations agree.

A Trepça hoist is down — should the replacement fly or wait for the road?

Fly the part that stopped the hoist, and send the rest by road. Air from Dubai into Pristina takes typically 3–5 days with a connection, against 22–30 days by sea and road, so it pays on the critical assembly, not on routine lines. Send the old hose’s layline, end fittings and length between fitting faces, and we build and pressure-test the assembly in Dubai before it flies.

Can workshops in Mitrovica or Pristina order bulk hose and loose fittings to crimp themselves?

Yes. Bulk hose on the reel, with matching ferrules and fittings from the same maker’s system, ships alongside finished assemblies, so a workshop rebuilding mining or construction machinery can crimp its own. Mixing hose and fittings from different systems is the common cause of a crimp that fails, so tell us the crimper and die set you use and we match the components to it.

What do you need from us to price both corridors for a Kosovo order?

The delivery town, the line list and the importer of record. With those we price Durrës–Vërmicë and Thessaloniki routings side by side, on DAP to your site, CIF Durrës, FOB Jebel Ali or EXW Dubai for your nominated forwarder. For each line give the bore, end fittings and working pressure, and the quotation comes back in EUR.

Do you build to EN 853 for our European machines and SAE J517 for the American ones?

Yes — we build to whichever standard the machine was designed around. European excavators usually take EN 853 or EN 856 hose with metric DIN 24° cone or BSP ends, while American trucks and loaders run SAE J517 hose with JIC or ORFS ends, and one order can cover both. Tell us the standard and end connection for each line, and assemblies are made up to length and pressure-tested in Dubai.
