Supplying North Macedonia, in detail

Why does North Macedonia arrive sooner than Serbia or Bosnia from the same Gulf sailing?

Because the corridor is short. Thessaloniki to Skopje is a few hours by road, where Serbia and Bosnia sit most of a day inland from their ports. The two-file customs arithmetic is the same — an EU transit declaration and a Macedonian entry at Bogorodica, agreeing line for line — but the sea-and-road lane runs typically 18–26 days from dispatch and the road leg costs much less.

Our free-zone plant must use the hose brand our group specifies — can you supply exactly that?

Often, and we tell you at once when we cannot. A subsidiary plant usually sources the component its group engineering function has already specified, so a technically equivalent alternative cannot be accepted locally. Send the group specification or the named product with your enquiry. If we cannot supply a mandated brand we say so immediately, rather than proposing something that would be escalated and refused.

Can hose assemblies arrive labelled with our plant’s own part numbers?

Yes. Assemblies are made up to length in Dubai, crimped and pressure-tested, and each is tagged with your part number alongside ours and the purchase-order line, so a free-zone stores team in Skopje or Štip can book them in without re-identifying anything. Material and test certificates come from the mill or our test bench where the order calls for them.

Is Durrës a sensible route for deliveries in Tetovo or Gostivar?

Sometimes. The western corridor from Durrës runs typically 24–32 days, against 18–26 through Thessaloniki and Bogorodica, so for most deliveries the Greek gate is shorter. For the Polog valley, where Tetovo and Gostivar sit closer to the west, the comparison is worth making and we will say which suits the order.

What hose suits the wet underground lead-zinc mines at Sasa and Toranica?

Hose with an abrasion-resistant cover and fittings plated to resist corrosion. Underground lead-zinc work combines water, rock dust and high-cycle drill and loader circuits, which wears a cover faster than pressure alone suggests. We supply spiral hose to EN 856 and SAE J517, made up to length, and deliver DAP to the mine gate in the eastern belt; the road leg from Skopje is quoted rather than estimated.

Bitola’s lignite plant runs around the clock — how should we time a hose order for an outage?

Order against the outage date, on the sea lane, not after the failure. Abrasion-resistant hose, fittings and valves for excavators, conveyors and stackers in the Bitola and Oslomej mines, and actuator hydraulics for the power plant, ship by Thessaloniki in typically 18–26 days. Lignite dust and continuous running shorten hose life, so a planned order sized around the outage costs far less than flying single items into Skopje.

Can automotive component plants in the Skopje free zones order assemblies in repeat batches?

Yes. A fixed specification, quoted once and called off by batch, suits plants supplying European car assemblers. Each batch is built to the same drawing, tagged to your part numbers and shipped on the Thessaloniki lane, which at 18–26 days is short enough to plan regular replenishment around rather than holding large local stock.

Besides the transit file, is there a product certificate to arrange for Macedonian customs?

No blanket pre-shipment conformity scheme applies to industrial hose and fittings. What has to be right is the transit file and the Macedonian entry, raised from the same invoice and packing list so they match at Bogorodica. A Dubai Chamber-attested Certificate of Origin travels with the goods, and material and test certificates go with the lines whose specification calls for them.

Do you supply excavator, crane and batching-plant hydraulics for the Corridor VIII road works?

Yes, on DAP terms to the site or the contractor’s yard. We supply hose assemblies made up to length, fittings, adapters and valves for excavators, cranes, tunnelling rigs and batching plant, and the road leg from Bogorodica is quoted with the order. For a machine that is standing idle, air into Skopje takes typically 3–5 days with a connection.

What does a quotation for Skopje need to show besides the price?

The routing, the Incoterm and the document set. We quote DAP to your site, CIF Thessaloniki, FOB Jebel Ali or EXW Dubai for your nominated forwarder, state whether the goods go via Thessaloniki or Durrës, and list the documents that travel with them. Quotations are in EUR, with the same figure on the Estimate, the invoice and the customs value.
