Supplying Croatia, in detail

Should cargo for Zagreb and Slavonia land at Rijeka or Ploče?

Rijeka. It is the container gate for the north, Zagreb, Slavonia and the Hungarian corridor, with full containers typically 18–24 days from Jebel Ali. Ploče suits the south — Split, Makarska and the Neretva valley — and cargo continuing into Bosnia and Herzegovina, typically 20–26 days. We choose the port against the delivery town and price the road leg to your site on DAP terms.

Can goods for a site in Bosnia and Herzegovina pass through Ploče without a Croatian entry?

Yes, and that is the normal routing. Bosnia and Herzegovina is outside the customs union, so the goods travel under a transit declaration raised by the forwarder at Ploče or Rijeka rather than being entered into Croatian free circulation. Tell us at quotation: entering goods for Croatia and moving them on pays for an entry they did not need and still needs a Bosnian declaration.

Our pre-season list mixes small and large-bore hose — which lines get a CE mark?

Only the assemblies above the pressure-volume threshold in PED 2014/68/EU, and we mark each line on the quotation so nothing is a surprise on arrival. Above the threshold, our declaration of conformity as the assembler travels with the goods; below it, sound engineering practice applies and there is no mark. A mixed list of steering, winch and hatch assemblies often has both, under one Croatian customs entry.

When should a ferry or charter operator send its pre-season list?

During the season, for the following one. Every operator on the coast does its maintenance in the same weeks before opening, so availability, not price, decides what is fixed properly. A list sent in summer or autumn ships by sea through the winter and sits on your shelf by spring. We quote lay-up lists at any time of year, and the quiet months are when it pays.

Do shipyard orders for Pula, Rijeka or Split come with class certificates?

Where the specification names a class society, yes — tell us the society and the approval at quotation and we say plainly whether the item carries it, rather than letting survey discover a gap. The certificate travels with the item, not the invoice. Goods are delivered on DAP terms to the yard, with the road leg from Rijeka or Ploče priced with the order.

Do you supply the Urinj refinery and the Omišalj oil and LNG terminals on Krk?

Yes. Industrial transfer hose and couplings, valves, and hydraulic hose and fittings for refinery, jetty and tank-farm maintenance on the Kvarner coast ship to Rijeka, a short road leg from Urinj and across the Krk bridge to Omišalj. Send the datasheet with media, temperature, pressure class and end connections, and any material documentation the site requires, so it is confirmed at quotation.

What adds the extra days between Suez and Rijeka?

The length of the Adriatic, which the vessel sails after crossing the eastern Mediterranean. Rijeka is typically 18–24 days from Jebel Ali through Suez, several days more than Piraeus or Limassol, and still well short of routing round Gibraltar to a northern port. For a pre-season order that difference does not matter; for a stopped machine, air freight into Zagreb is the faster answer.

Is Zagreb the airport for urgent parts even when the yard is on the coast?

Yes — air freight from Dubai to Zagreb goes with a connection and takes typically 2–4 days, then continues by road to Rijeka, Split or the site. It is worth it for a stopped line or a vessel that cannot leave the yard; planned and pre-season orders belong on the sea lane. The Certificate of Origin and any PED declaration travel with the air shipment as they would by sea.

Do you supply governor and gate hydraulics for hydro plants on the Cetina and Drava?

Yes — governor and actuator hydraulics, gate and spillway cylinders, hose assemblies, valves and fittings matched to the plant’s original part numbers. Goods land at Ploče for the Cetina plants inland of Split and at Rijeka for the Drava, and are delivered by road on DAP terms. Send the data plate or drawing, and we confirm the match at quotation rather than proposing a near equivalent.

What should a Dalmatian cement plant tell you about hose working near the kiln and clinker cooler?

The surface and ambient temperature at the hose, the fluid, the working pressure and how much abrasion it sees. Near a kiln or clinker cooler those decide the construction more than the pressure does, so we choose hose, cover and sleeving for the actual position rather than the catalogue rating. Assemblies are made up in Dubai, shipped to Ploče in typically 20–26 days and delivered to the plants around Split on DAP terms.
