Supplying Turkey, in detail

Why buy from Dubai when Türkiye makes this equipment?

For standard hose and fittings, you should not — the domestic industry is excellent and closer. What we are asked for is the pattern that is not held locally: GOST couplings for a Central Asian contract, SS316L thread forms and API-monogrammed assemblies. Locally that is often a six-week factory order; for us it is stock, ten to fourteen days by sea to Mersin or two to four days by air to Istanbul.

When does a hose assembly shipped to Türkiye need CE marking?

When it sits above the pressure-volume threshold in PED 2014/68/EU. A hydraulic hose assembly is a pressure accessory: above the threshold it needs a declaration of conformity travelling with the goods; below it, the directive requires sound engineering practice and no CE mark at all. Suppliers who CE-mark everything and suppliers who mark nothing are both wrong, so we state which side of the line each item sits on at quotation.

Who issues the PED declaration of conformity — you or the hose maker?

We do, as the assembler, for assemblies above the PED threshold. The assembly is the pressure accessory, not the bulk hose or the loose fitting, so the declaration belongs to whoever makes the assembly up. It is issued before dispatch and travels with the goods to Mersin, Ambarlı or Izmir. Material and test certificates from the mill or our test bench are added where the order calls for them.

Does industrial hose need TSE conformity in Türkiye?

Only where the line is on the Turkish Standards Institution’s defined list of regulated products. Much industrial hose and many fittings sit outside it. Where a line is inside, the assessment is arranged before shipment and settled per product at quotation, so it never surfaces for the first time at Turkish Customs. The importer raises the customs import declaration before arrival, against our invoice and attested certificate of origin.

Mersin, Ambarlı, Gemlik or Izmir — which port suits our plant?

Mersin for the southern and south-eastern belt — Adana, Iskenderun, Gaziantep. Ambarlı or Gemlik for Marmara — Istanbul, the Izmit and Gebze industrial zones in Kocaeli, and Bursa. Izmir for the Aegean — Manisa and Aliağa. The road leg across Anatolia is long enough that choosing the port is worth the minute it takes, rather than defaulting to Mersin and trucking the container north.

Can a Turkish contractor’s site in Iraq or Central Asia receive API equipment direct from Dubai?

Yes, with the commercial relationship kept in Türkiye. API 6A wellhead, API 16A BOP, API 16C choke and kill and API 7K drilling hose ship to the site with NACE MR0175 documentation where the contract requires it. We supply TechnipFMC, Cameron (SLB), SPM, Anson, Stream-Flo and WOM equipment. From Dubai, those sites are usually closer and simpler to reach than from Istanbul.

Can you supply GOST-pattern couplings for a contract in Kazakhstan or Turkmenistan?

Yes, and it is one of the commoner reasons Turkish buyers call us. We hold GOST-pattern couplings and adapters alongside the DIN, BSP, JIC and ORFS ranges, so a contract that mixes Soviet-standard plant with European machinery ships from one order. The goods can come to Türkiye first or go straight to the project, depending on where the contract and its documentation sit.

Can one agreement in Istanbul cover deliveries to several countries?

Yes. A contractor can hold one agreement and one set of terms with us in Türkiye and take deliveries wherever the work is — Kazakhstan, Iraq or Libya are markets we ship to routinely. It also solves the interchangeability problem a contractor accumulates when each site buys locally, because the same specification arrives everywhere instead of five near-equivalents that do not swap between sites.

Which stainless thread forms are worth importing rather than ordering from a Turkish factory?

The SS316L patterns a local factory makes to order rather than holds. When an offshore, chemical or food specification calls for stainless in a thread form or seat that is not stocked domestically, the local route is often a six-week factory order while ours is stock. Send the thread form, size, pressure and the standard named in the specification, and we confirm what is held at quotation.

Can you supply hose and fittings for geothermal plant around Aydın and Denizli?

Yes, for the hydraulic and utility circuits on the plant — valve actuators, governor and control hydraulics, and transfer lines — specified from the medium and its temperature. Geothermal fluid is hot and often corrosive, so the hose, liner and fitting material are chosen from what the line actually carries. Tell us the fluid, temperature and pressure, and whether the assembly sits near brine or steam piping.
