Supplying Mauritania, in detail

Should cargo for Mauritania go to Nouakchott or Nouadhibou?

Nouakchott for general cargo; Nouadhibou where the delivery is for the ore terminals or heading up the rail line to Zouerate. FCL to Nouakchott typically takes 30–38 days around the Cape, and to Nouadhibou 32–40 days. Naming the final site at quotation lets us choose the port that shortens the last leg rather than the one on the default schedule.

What documents does a Mauritanian import of hydraulic equipment need?

Regulated lines go through pre-shipment verification by the appointed inspection body before the vessel sails, and the consignee lodges the import declaration through the bank before shipment. We issue the invoice and packing list in French, with a Dubai Chamber attested Certificate of Origin and material and test certificates where the order calls for them. All of it is prepared before the container loads.

Which spares do you supply for the iron ore mines and loading systems around Zouerate and Nouadhibou?

Slurry valves, four-spiral hose, high-cycle cylinders and crusher-duty components, with material certificates where the contract calls for them. Ore handling wears assemblies on a schedule rather than at random, so we will quote a standing set of tagged spares sized to your changeout interval, identified so whoever is on shift can find the right one, and shipped as one planned consignment.

Can you supply contractors on the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim gas project off Mauritania?

Yes, as a supplier to the contractors — API 6A and API 16C rated equipment with NACE MR0175 documentation where required, plus hose, valves and high-pressure fittings. We supply TechnipFMC, Cameron (SLB), SPM, Anson, Stream-Flo and WOM equipment. Name the shorebase or vessel arrangements at quotation, because they change the final leg from Nouakchott or Nouadhibou.

Can you deliver DAP to Zouerate, Tasiast or Akjoujt?

Yes, on DAP terms to the site gate. The inland legs are long — Zouerate is at the head of the ore line in Tiris Zemmour, and Tasiast and Akjoujt are in Inchiri — so each is quoted rather than estimated. Tell us the site and the receiving contact, and the inland transport is priced and documented with the sea freight.

Why does sea freight from Dubai to Nouakchott take over a month?

Because the routing runs around the Cape of Good Hope: typically 30–38 days by FCL from dispatch to Nouakchott, and 32–40 days to Nouadhibou. When a line is down, air freight from DXB into Nouakchott (NKC) takes six to eight days and is quoted per shipment, so you can weigh the freight cost against the downtime.

How do you protect hose assemblies against dust on Mauritanian mine sites?

Assemblies are crimped and pressure-tested in Dubai, then capped at both ends and tagged with the hose, the fittings and the test date, so nothing open travels to site. For loading and mobile plant in the Zouerate and Inchiri dust, we recommend flat-face quick-release couplings that wipe clean and dust caps that are actually fitted, and will point out where that upgrade is worth it.

Which rigging hardware stands up to salt air at Nouadhibou?

Galvanised or stainless wire rope, shackles and hooks are worth specifying for gear stored or used on the quay, because salt air works quickly on uncoated hardware. We supply wire rope and chain slings, shackles, hooks and hoist accessories for terminal maintenance, rail workshops and mine plant, each marked with its working load limit and shipped with its test certificate.

Do you supply the Nouadhibou fishing fleet and fish-processing plants?

Yes. We supply hydraulic hose assemblies, fittings and valves for winches, net haulers and cranes on trawlers, stainless and zinc-nickel plated fittings for salt-water exposure, and industrial and food-grade hose for processing and ice plants ashore. Vessel spares can ship by sea to Nouadhibou directly, with verification and the French documents arranged before the vessel sails.

How far ahead should a Mauritanian site order planned maintenance spares?

Plan backwards from the shutdown: 30–40 days of sea freight, plus the time to complete pre-shipment verification and the import declaration before the vessel sails, plus the inland leg to site. We do not promise a lead time until the list is confirmed, but a complete list at quotation is the single biggest factor in keeping the consignment on one vessel.
