Supplying Thailand, in detail

What is TISI and does it cover hydraulic hose and fittings?

TISI is the Thai Industrial Standards Institute, which regulates a defined list of products, and most hydraulic hose, fittings, adapters and valves are not on it. Send the part list at quotation and we will say which lines, if any, are in scope rather than certifying everything to be safe. Where a line genuinely falls on the list, the certification is arranged at origin before the container is loaded.

Should we ship to Laem Chabang or Bangkok Port?

Laem Chabang if you are on the eastern seaboard, as most industrial buyers are: it is deeper, busier and close to Chonburi, Rayong and Map Ta Phut. Bangkok Port suits a delivery in the city or the central plain, such as Ayutthaya or Samut Prakan. Songkhla serves the south. Name the delivery estate at quotation and we will price the port that fits it.

What holds a hydraulic consignment at Thai customs?

Almost always the tariff classification. Thai customs query a description that does not sit comfortably with the declared code, and a queried consignment waits at the port while it is resolved. We fix the classification line by line at quotation and state it on the invoice, so your broker declares what we shipped rather than what he guesses we shipped. That one step removes the most common cause of delay on this lane.

Can you deliver to plants at Map Ta Phut, Rayong or Chonburi?

Yes, on DAP terms to the plant gate. The eastern seaboard estates are a short road leg from Laem Chabang, and that leg is priced at quotation rather than estimated. For refinery and petrochemical sites at Map Ta Phut, tell us the gate-entry and delivery-window rules at enquiry, so the truck arrives when the stores can receive it and the goods are not turned away at the gate.

Do you provide NACE sour-service documentation for Thai refinery and gas work?

Yes. NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 material documentation is supplied where the contract requires it, stated at quotation and shipped with the goods rather than produced after the fact. That matters for valves, flow iron and wellhead parts going into sour gas or refinery service, where an inspector will ask for the material record before the item is accepted, not after it is installed.

Will replacement assemblies for our production line match the originals exactly?

That is how we supply them. On a line validated to fixed cycle times, a hose with a different wall stiffness or a fitting with a slightly different bore can put it out of tolerance even when the part is nominally better. We crimp assemblies in Dubai, pressure-test and tag them, and supply the same construction from the same source each time; where a product has to change, we tell you before shipping.

How many days does a shipment from Jebel Ali to Laem Chabang take?

Typically 18–24 days from dispatch for a full container on the sea route round the peninsula. Small mixed orders shipped LCL are consolidated with transhipment and take 24–32 days. Air freight from DXB to BKK takes 3–5 days. Because most hose and fittings need no TISI certificate, the freight time is close to the whole lead time once the classification is settled.

Can you ship to Songkhla for Gulf of Thailand offshore work?

Yes. Songkhla serves the south and the offshore supply operations for the Gulf of Thailand fields, and we quote it as a destination port in its own right rather than routing everything through Laem Chabang. Give us the vessel or campaign date and the base the goods are for, and we will plan the sailing back from it and pack by vessel or platform where needed.

Do you supply wellhead equipment and flow iron for the Gulf of Thailand gas fields?

Yes. We supply TechnipFMC, Cameron (SLB), SPM, Anson, Stream-Flo and WOM equipment, so wellhead components, valves and flow iron for fields such as Erawan and Bongkot can be quoted alongside hydraulic hose on one consignment. Pressure rating, material class and the certificates the contract calls for, including sour-service documentation, are confirmed per line at quotation.

Can you supply cement plants and quarries in Saraburi?

Yes. Saraburi and the central plain are served through Bangkok Port, with delivery to the plant on DAP terms priced at quotation. Kiln, crusher and loader hydraulics in cement and quarry service run hot, dusty and continuous, so we specify hose cover, fittings and seals for abrasion, heat and cycle life as well as pressure, and supply the same construction on each reorder.

Do you supply slings, shackles and lifting gear to Thailand?

Yes. Wire rope and chain slings, shackles, hooks and rigging hardware ship from Dubai marked with their working load limit and with the manufacturer’s test certificates the order calls for, on the same consignment as hydraulic parts. Whether a lifting line falls on the TISI list is confirmed from the part list at quotation. Inspection on site stays with your appointed lifting inspector.

What should a Thai enquiry include to avoid questions at clearance?

Full part numbers or a precise description of each line — size, thread, pressure and material — because that is what the tariff classification is fixed from. Add the delivery estate, which decides Laem Chabang, Bangkok Port or Songkhla, and for production-line spares the make and construction currently fitted. The quotation then states the classification, Incoterm, freight mode and documents, and the invoice matches it.
