Supplying Peru, in detail

Why is Callao 40 to 50 days from Jebel Ali?

Because the Pacific coast of South America is the furthest point on our network from Dubai. The routing rounds the Cape of Good Hope, crosses the South Atlantic, tranships and transits the Panama Canal before running down to Callao. None of the time is paperwork, so the practical answer is to batch planned consumables and order against the shutdown calendar rather than the failure.

Do Peruvian technical regulations apply to imported hydraulic hose?

Usually not. Peru applies technical regulations to a defined list of products, and most industrial hose, fittings and adapters sit outside it. Where a line on your order is listed, we arrange the conformity documentation at origin through an accredited certification body before the container is loaded. The part list settles which lines are affected at quotation.

Should our order land at Callao or Matarani?

Callao for Lima and most of the country, including the route up to Antamina; Matarani when the delivery is in the Arequipa or Moquegua mining belt, because the road from Lima to Arequipa is more than a thousand kilometres. Matarani is reached by transhipment and takes 44 to 54 days against 40 to 50 for Callao. We compare both against your site at quotation.

Can you deliver to Las Bambas, Antamina or Cerro Verde?

Yes, on DAP terms to the mine gate. The road leg from Callao or Matarani up to these sites climbs to high altitude on mountain roads with their own access rules, so it is quoted rather than estimated. Cerro Verde sits close to Arequipa and Matarani; Las Bambas and Antamina are longer climbs. CIF Callao is available if your logistics provider handles the inland move.

What should we tell you about a mine site above 4,000 metres?

The altitude, the machine and the duty. Above three thousand metres seal compounds, cooling capacity and cycle life all behave differently from the datasheet, and many Peruvian mines run between three and four and a half thousand metres. Give us the site at quotation and we flag where a standard specification is the wrong choice, rather than supplying to the letter of the part number.

Can you supply large-bore hose for tailings and thickener underflow?

Yes, but it is a different product family, not a bigger hydraulic hose. Above a certain diameter the wall construction, reinforcement and handling change, and end connections are usually flanged rather than threaded. For tailings transfer, thickener underflow or concentrate slurry, tell us the bore, the medium, the solids content and the pressure, and we specify from the large-bore industrial range.

Do you supply oilfield valves and flow equipment for Talara and Camisea?

Yes. We supply TechnipFMC, Cameron (SLB), SPM, Anson, Stream-Flo and WOM equipment — gate and check valves, flow iron and wellhead components — alongside transfer hose and fittings for refinery, terminal and gas-field service. Send the API specification, pressure class and end connections, and material and test certificates are supplied where the specification calls for them.

Which language must Peruvian import documents be in?

Spanish. The description of each line has to agree across the invoice, the packing list and the import declaration the importer files through SUNAT. We fix that wording at quotation rather than at the pier, and where a line falls under a technical regulation, the conformity documentation uses the same description.

How quickly can air freight reach Lima for a stopped concentrator?

Typically 6 to 9 days from Dubai to Lima (LIM) with a connection, quoted per shipment. It is the right choice for a single critical assembly, valve or seal kit; bulk consumables belong in the planned sea consignment. Onward delivery from Lima to Arequipa or a mine site is quoted together with the air freight.

Do you supply hydraulics for the fishmeal fleet at Chimbote and Callao?

Yes — hose assemblies, fittings and valves for winches, net haulers, pumps and deck cranes on the anchovy purse-seine fleet and for fishmeal plant handling at Chimbote, Callao and Pisco. The pre-season refit is the useful moment to order, and seawater exposure matters as much as pressure, so tell us where each line runs.

How do we request a quote from Lima or Arequipa?

Send the part list or hose markings, the site and its altitude, the delivery point and your preferred Incoterm: CIF Callao, DAP to the mine gate, FOB Jebel Ali or EXW Dubai. We quote in US dollars, confirm whether any line falls under a technical regulation, choose Callao or Matarani, and agree the Spanish descriptions in the same reply.
