Which items are worth ordering from Dubai for a Guyana operation, and which are not?

Planned consumables are; urgent breakdown parts are not. For anything needed this week, Trinidad or the US Gulf Coast is closer, and that is the honest answer. What we compete on is the planned order — spiral hose, crimp fittings, flow iron and valve consumables held as real stock, quoted against a specification, batched and shipped once rather than flown in twice.

What do Stabroek contractors get held up on — customs or certification?

Certification, almost always. Guyana has no general pre-shipment conformity scheme and the customs file is short: the importer's declaration through the Guyana Revenue Authority, against our invoice and packing list, and an attested certificate of origin. What fails a consignment is the operator's specification — API monogram, NACE MR0175 material documentation, mill certificates traceable to heat number — so we confirm those at quotation, not at inspection.

How long does a transhipped container take from Jebel Ali to Georgetown?

Typically 35 to 45 days FCL from dispatch: round the Cape of Good Hope, then transhipped through Trinidad or a Caribbean hub onto a feeder for Georgetown. Consolidated LCL with two transhipments runs 42 to 55 days. Air freight into Georgetown (GEO) takes 5 to 9 days with at least one connection. Georgetown takes a feeder rather than a mainline call, so the sailing is confirmed at booking.

How far ahead of the drilling programme should we place a Guyana order?

Allow five to seven weeks for the sea lane plus the time to confirm the specification, and order against the drilling or maintenance programme rather than the requisition. Separate the genuinely long-lead items for your equipment from commodity hose and fittings early — in a fast-growing basin the long-lead items bite every operator at once. We will say plainly which lines on your list fall into which category.

Can you deliver DAP to the shore-base gate in Georgetown or Houston, East Bank Demerara?

Yes. On DAP terms we deliver to the base gate at Georgetown or at Houston on the East Bank Demerara. The leg beyond the port is short and it is priced, not estimated. Tell us the base's gate and induction requirements and any marking the logistics contractor needs, and each package is labelled with its own contents and purchase-order line.

Which wellhead and flow-iron makes can you ship for Guyana's offshore programme?

We supply TechnipFMC, Cameron (SLB), SPM, Anson, Stream-Flo and WOM equipment, covering API 6A wellhead, API 16A BOP, API 16C choke and kill and API 7K drilling hose. NACE MR0175 material documentation, and monogram and licence documentation from the manufacturer, accompany the lines that need them, and each line is confirmed against the operator's specification at quotation rather than after the goods arrive.

Should we fly parts into Georgetown for a vessel or rig breakdown?

For a line that is down, yes — air freight into Georgetown (GEO) takes 5 to 9 days with at least one connection. For anything else it undoes the reason to buy from Dubai at all: the saving is in the sea lane, and air freight spends it. If a part is needed in days rather than a week, a supplier in Trinidad or the US Gulf will usually be quicker, and we will say so.

Can rigging for a Demerara shore base go into service on arrival, certificates and all?

Yes, if the certificate set is fixed at quotation rather than chased after delivery. We supply wire rope and synthetic slings, shackles, hooks, master links and lifting accessories on the same file as the hydraulic and oilfield lines. Tell us the working load limits, the sling configuration and the operator's or logistics contractor's certification requirements, and the paperwork travels with the gear.

Do you supply hydraulic hose for bauxite at Linden and gold dredges in the interior?

Yes — high-pressure hose, crimp fittings, couplings and assemblies for excavators, loaders, haul trucks and dredge pumps. Interior gold work is mud, water and abrasion, and the Linden bauxite operations add dust, so tell us the machine and where each line runs. Cargo lands at Georgetown; the road leg to Linden is short, and for interior sites we quote to the point where your own transport takes over.

Do you supply contractors working on the Wales Gas-to-Energy project and coastal power plant?

Yes — valves, hose, fittings and actuator components for gas-handling, utility and generation plant, including work around the Gas-to-Energy project at Wales on the West Bank Demerara and the diesel and HFO stations on the coastal grid. Send the specification or the existing part numbers; materials, pressure class and the certificate set are confirmed at quotation.

Can hose for a supply vessel be shipped crimped and tagged to the vessel's own line numbers?

Yes. Hose assemblies are made up to length, crimped and tagged before dispatch, so they go straight onto the vessel or the unit rather than through a Georgetown workshop. Each tag can carry your line or equipment number alongside our part number and the purchase-order line, and test records from our bench accompany assemblies where the operator's specification calls for them.
