Supplying Guinea, in detail

How long does shipping from Dubai to Conakry take?

Full-container sea freight from Jebel Ali to Conakry typically takes 30–36 days from dispatch, because the routing is around the Cape of Good Hope. Small mixed orders shipped LCL, consolidated with transshipment, take 36–44 days. When a line is down, air freight from DXB to Conakry (CKY) takes six to eight days and is quoted per shipment.

Which documents are needed to import into Guinea?

The consignee raises the import declaration (DPI) through the bank before the vessel sails, and regulated goods are verified by the appointed inspection body before shipment. We supply the invoice and packing list in French and a certificate of origin attested by the Dubai Chamber, plus material and test certificates where the order calls for them.

Should my order ship to Conakry or Kamsar?

Ship to Conakry for general cargo and deliveries around the capital, Kindia or Fria. Ship to Kamsar where the delivery is on the bauxite terminals or the mines inland around Boké and Sangarédi, since it saves a long road leg from Conakry. The road legs from either port to the interior are quoted rather than estimated.

Can you supply the bauxite mines around Boké and Sangarédi?

Yes. Slurry valves, four-spiral hose for haul trucks and excavators, high-cycle cylinders and crusher-duty components are the bulk of what we ship to the region, with material certificates where the contract calls for them. Deliveries go CIF Kamsar or DAP to the site gate.

Can you deliver to Simandou and the south-east?

Yes, on DAP terms to the site gate. The inland leg to the Simandou range in Nzérékoré region is long and is quoted rather than estimated. Mining, rail and port contractors on the project can also take delivery at Conakry and move the goods on with their own logistics.

Can you supply the gold mines around Siguiri?

Yes, on DAP terms to the mine gate in the Kankan region, with the long inland leg from Conakry quoted rather than estimated. Typical consignments are four-spiral hose, high-cycle cylinders, slurry valves and crusher-duty fittings, crimped and tested in Dubai so the site fits finished assemblies.

Do the documents have to be in French for Guinea?

Yes, and they have to agree with each other. The invoice, packing list and declaration must describe the same items against the same tariff lines; a description that differs between them is the commonest cause of delay. We write the French technical description once at quotation and use it throughout.

Why ship hose assemblies crimped in Dubai rather than make them up on site?

Because the crimp matters more than the brand on the hose. Extraction duty works fittings loose through vibration long before the hose wears out, and the commonest failure is an assembly made up locally with whatever die was available. Ours are crimped to the fitting maker’s specification, pressure-tested and tagged with the hose, fittings and test date.

Which hose do you supply for haul trucks, excavators and loaders?

For high-pressure circuits on heavy mining plant we supply four- and six-spiral hose to EN 856 (4SP, 4SH) and SAE J517 (100R12, 100R13, 100R15) constructions, with abrasion-resistant covers and protective sleeving where hoses rub. Tell us the machine, the line and the working pressure and we match hose and fitting series to it.

How do I request a quotation from Guinea?

Send the part list or the tags from the failed parts, the machine models, the delivery point (Conakry, Kamsar or a named site) and the certificates your contract requires. We quote in USD on CIF Conakry, DAP to site, FOB Jebel Ali or EXW Dubai for your forwarder, and agree the French descriptions and tariff lines at the same time.
