Supplying Azerbaijan, in detail

Will a Russian or Kazakh EAC certificate clear goods at Baku?

No. Azerbaijan is outside the Eurasian Economic Union, so an EAC certificate issued for a Kazakh or Russian consignee does not carry across the border. Regulated goods need Azerbaijani conformity documents raised in the importer’s own name by a recognised certification body, settled per product at quotation. The customs declaration then runs through the single-window system against the description on the invoice, so both are easier to arrange before the goods move than at Baku.

Why does nothing reach the Caspian offshore fields directly by sea from the Gulf?

Because the Caspian is enclosed. Equipment for an offshore field off Baku arrives by air, by sea to Poti and rail across Georgia, or by Caspian feeder from Aktau or Turkmenbashi to Alat — never on a direct ocean vessel. That turns the usual sea-versus-air decision into a routing question. Because everything travels overland or by air to the shore base, dimensions and weight should come with the enquiry, not at booking.

What are the freight options into Baku, and how long does each take?

Three. Air freight from Dubai to Baku takes three to five days and is the default for most orders. Sea to Poti with rail across Georgia runs 28–38 days and suits volume and palletised orders. The Caspian feeder through Aktau or Turkmenbashi to Alat runs 30–40 days and is reserved for project and oversize cargo. Each routing is quoted per shipment, on DAP, CIF Poti, FOB Jebel Ali or EXW Dubai terms.

What can you supply for ACG, Shah Deniz and other Caspian platforms?

API 6A and API 16C rated equipment, SS316L and duplex fittings for topside service, and NACE MR0175 material documentation where the contract requires it. We supply TechnipFMC, Cameron (SLB), SPM, Anson, Stream-Flo and WOM equipment alongside hydraulic hose, fittings and adapters. Material and test certificates come from the mill or our test bench where the order calls for them, and travel with the goods to the shore base.

Can you deliver to the Sangachal terminal and the yards south of Baku?

Yes, on DAP terms to the gate at Sangachal and at other terminals and yards along the coast south of Baku, including Garadagh and Alat. Site access requirements — gate passes, delivery windows, packing and marking rules — need to come with the order rather than after it, because a consignment that arrives without them waits outside the gate while the paperwork catches up.

Can you supply to SOCAR-contracted work?

Yes, as a supplier to the contractor. Where a tender names a standard we quote against that standard, and the certification travels with the goods: Azerbaijani conformity documents in the importer’s name where the line is regulated, material and test certificates where the order calls for them, and an attested certificate of origin. Send the tender’s technical schedule with the enquiry and we confirm line by line what we can supply against it.

Can hose assemblies arrive tagged so a Baku shore base can trace them?

Yes. Assemblies are crimped and pressure-tested in Dubai and shipped as finished items, each tagged with the hose, the fitting and the test date. That lets a shore base or platform store match an assembly to its test record without opening the crate, and it means nothing needs to be made up at the shore base. Send bore, thread, pressure and the length between fitting faces, or a photograph of the failed assembly.

When is the Caspian feeder to Alat the right choice?

When the cargo is project or oversize equipment that suits neither air freight nor the rail leg across Georgia. The feeder runs through Aktau or Turkmenbashi to the Port of Baku at Alat, typically 30–40 days from dispatch. It is quoted per consignment, and the dimensions, weights and lifting points need to be known at enquiry, because they decide whether the feeder or rail is the workable routing.

What hose suits chemical and polymer plant duty at Sumgait?

It depends on the medium, so we start from the chemical, the concentration and the temperature rather than from a hose name. Hydraulic circuits on process plant take standard hydraulic hose; transfer lines carrying acids, solvents or hydrocarbons need industrial hose and couplings whose liner and cover are rated for that medium. Tell us what flows through the line, at what temperature and pressure, and how it is cleaned.

What does the single-window customs declaration need from the supplier?

Accurate, consistent descriptions. The declaration is made on arrival by the consignee or clearing agent through the single-window system, against the description on our commercial invoice. So the invoice, packing list, conformity documents and Dubai Chamber attested certificate of origin must describe each line in the same words. We prepare them together before dispatch, in Dubai, so nothing has to be argued at Baku.
