Supplying Zimbabwe, in detail

How long does shipping take from Dubai to Harare or Bulawayo?

Typically 28 to 36 days by sea to Durban, then road north through Beitbridge, which reaches Bulawayo first and Harare after. For eastern deliveries, Beira and the Mutare corridor take 26 to 34 days. Air freight into Harare takes five to seven days and is quoted per shipment. The inland leg to a mine or plant is quoted rather than estimated.

What is consignment-based conformity assessment for Zimbabwe?

It is an inspection of the specific consignment at origin, before the vessel sails, by an appointed inspection body. The certificate cannot be reused from a previous shipment or borrowed from another supplier, and it is booked against the part list. That is why we ask for the complete list at quotation: changes after booking mean reassessment and delay.

Which documents clear a hydraulic consignment into Zimbabwe?

The consignment travels with the consignment-based conformity assessment certificate, South African transit documents for the road leg from Durban, a Certificate of Origin attested by the Dubai Chamber, and the bill of lading and packing list. Material and test certificates are added where the order calls for them, from the mill or our own test bench.

Should our order go via Durban or Beira?

Durban for most orders, including Bulawayo, the Midlands and the Great Dyke, on the corridor through Beitbridge. Beira where the delivery is in the east, such as Mutare or eastern Harare, since the Mutare corridor is much shorter from there. We name the port in the quotation and quote DAP Harare or your site where you want it delivered.

Can you supply the platinum mines on the Great Dyke?

Yes. We supply slurry valves, four-spiral hose, high-cycle cylinders and crusher-duty components for the operations around Ngezi, Selous and Zvishavane, with material certificates where the contract calls for them. Deliveries go DAP to the mine gate, with the inland leg from Beitbridge quoted rather than estimated.

Do you supply Hwange colliery and the Kariba and Hwange power stations?

Yes. We supply hose, cylinders and valves for coal mining and handling at Hwange, actuators and valves for the coal-fired station, and gate-operator and governor hydraulics for Kariba South hydro. Send nameplate data or the existing part numbers; ageing plant often needs adapters as much as replacement components.

Our plant mixes BSP, metric, JIC and NPT threads. Can you match them?

Yes. Equipment that arrived over thirty years from Britain, South Africa, China and Eastern Europe commonly mixes all four, and a BSP male will start into an NPT female for two turns before it ruins the seat. Do you supply lithium and gold mining operations in Zimbabwe?

Yes. Lithium projects such as Bikita and Arcadia and gold mines in the Midlands use the same duty classes as platinum: abrasion-rated suction and discharge hose, crusher and mill hydraulics, cylinders and slurry valves. Send the part list early, because every line goes into the consignment-based conformity assessment before shipment.

Do you crimp hose assemblies before they ship to Zimbabwe?

Yes. Assemblies are crimped and pressure-tested in Dubai and shipped as finished items, tagged with the hose, the fittings and the test date. We build to SAE J517, EN 853 and EN 856, or ISO 18752 constructions as specified, with BSP, metric, JIC or NPT ends to match what is fitted on site.

Can lifting and rigging gear be supplied with certificates for Zimbabwean mines?

Yes. Chain, wire rope slings, shackles and hoist hardware are supplied with the test and material certificates the order calls for, so the mine's appointed inspector has a document for every item. Tell us the certificate format your site requires at quotation, because it also has to match the conformity assessment part list.

How do we request a quotation from Zimbabwe?

Send the complete part list with quantities, the delivery site and your preferred port. Quotations are in USD, which is also in common use locally, and name the corridor, Incoterm and inland leg. The conformity assessment and transit documents are arranged once you accept, before the container is loaded.
