Supplying Mozambique, in detail

Who supplies hydraulic hose and fittings to Mozambique from Dubai?

Indus Hydraulics ships hydraulic hose, fittings, adapters, industrial hose, valves and oilfield equipment from Jebel Ali to Maputo, Beira, Nacala and Pemba. Consignments leave with the invoice and packing list in Portuguese, a Dubai Chamber attested Certificate of Origin, and pre-shipment inspection completed where the order is above the value threshold.

Which port should we use?

Maputo for the south and the South African border, Beira for Tete and the corridor inland, Nacala for the north, Pemba for the gas development. All four are on the same rotation from Jebel Ali. Tell us the delivery address and we will quote the port that shortens the road leg, which can differ by hundreds of kilometres.

How long does shipping from Dubai to Maputo take?

Typically 16–22 days by sea in a full container from dispatch, with Beira, Nacala and Pemba on the same rotation. Consolidated LCL with transshipment takes 22–30 days. When a line is down, air freight from Dubai into Maputo (MPM) runs 5–7 days and is quoted per shipment.

Is pre-shipment inspection always required?

Above the value threshold, yes. The inspection is booked against the part list by the appointed inspection body before the vessel sails. We confirm at quotation whether your order falls inside the threshold rather than charging for an inspection nobody needs.

Do the documents have to be in Portuguese for Mozambique?

Yes, and they have to agree with each other. Mozambique clears imports on Portuguese-language documentation through the single-window customs declaration, raised by the consignee or clearing agent on arrival. A description that differs between the invoice and the declaration is the commonest cause of delay, so we prepare the set against the same part list as the inspection.

Can you supply the Rovuma gas development?

Yes, as a supplier to the contractors. API 6A and API 16C rated equipment, SS316L and duplex fittings, and NACE MR0175 documentation where the contract requires it, routed through Pemba. We supply TechnipFMC, Cameron (SLB), SPM, Anson, Stream-Flo and WOM wellhead, valve and flow-iron lines.

Can you deliver to Tete and Moatize?

Yes, on DAP terms to the mine gate, normally through Beira. The inland leg up the Beira corridor is quoted against the actual address rather than estimated. Send the delivery point with the enquiry so the freight figure includes it.

Which fittings last on ports and coastal sites in Mozambique?

Stainless or appropriately plated fittings. Salt air ends carbon steel fittings long before it ends the hose, and the failure comes at the crimp or coupling. Stainless costs more per unit and less per year at Maputo, Beira or Nacala, so we quote both side by side rather than defaulting to the cheaper line.

Do you crimp and pressure-test hose assemblies before shipping to Mozambique?

Yes. Assemblies are crimped and pressure-tested in Dubai and shipped as finished items, tagged with the hose, the fitting and the test date. For mining fleets in Tete or vessels at the ports, that means an assembly ready to fit on arrival. Send the hose standard — SAE or EN — with end fittings, length and orientation.

How do we request a quotation from Mozambique?

Send the part list with quantities and the delivery address, and say whether the site is coastal or inland. We confirm the port, the inspection threshold and the Portuguese document set on the quotation. Quotations are in USD, which keeps the inspection, valuation and bank documentation consistent, and lead time is quoted per consignment.
