Supplying Germany, in detail

Is Indus the right supplier for a standard DIN fitting in Germany?

No, and we would rather say so. Germany manufactures hydraulic components to a standard nobody needs to import against, and a plant that wants a DIN fitting tomorrow should buy it locally. We are useful for the exception: a machine built here for a market with a different standard, where GOST couplings, API monograms or SS316L thread forms are a factory order locally and held stock for us.

We build machines for a customer in the CIS — what should we send you to get the fittings right?

The drawing and the destination standard, not a part number. A German catalogue number tells us what the machine would carry in Europe; the contract decides what it must carry where it is going. We hold GOST-pattern couplings alongside DIN, BSP, JIC and ORFS ranges, so a machine for a GOST market can be plumbed from one order rather than two suppliers.

Will every hose assembly on our order carry a CE mark?

No — only those above the pressure-volume threshold in PED 2014/68/EU, and for those the declaration of conformity travels with the goods. Below the threshold the directive requires sound engineering practice and no mark. We state which side each line falls on at quotation, so your technical file shows a reason for every assembly rather than a blanket mark.

Should our container land at Hamburg, Bremerhaven or Rotterdam?

Whichever gives the shorter road leg to your plant. Hamburg and Bremerhaven take 24–30 days from Jebel Ali; Rotterdam takes 22–28 days and usually suits the Ruhr, the Rhineland and the south. Clearance is the same either way — the goods enter free circulation once and move on as domestic movement — so the port is chosen on distance, not customs.

Do you state the REACH position on elastomer compounds for German orders?

Yes, at quotation. We state our position on the elastomer compounds supplied, and where one carries a restriction relevant to your application we say so and offer the alternative rather than shipping and leaving you to discover it at goods-in. The statement sits in the quotation file alongside the PED position for each assembly.

Which API-monogrammed items can a German packager source from you?

API 6A wellhead equipment, API 16A BOP, API 16C choke-and-kill and API 7K drilling hose, with NACE MR0175 material documentation where the contract requires it. We supply TechnipFMC, Cameron (SLB), SPM, Anson, Stream-Flo and WOM equipment. For a skid or package built in Germany for export, send the datasheet and the end user’s named standards at quotation.

Could you hold DIN spares in Dubai for machines we have sold into the Gulf?

It is worth a conversation, whether or not you order today. German machines working in the Gulf, Africa and Central Asia are supported from Europe by air freight and a week; from Dubai the same spare is often a same-day matter. Send the fitting and hose specifications your installed base uses and we will tell you what we already hold and what holding more would involve.

How long does sea freight from Jebel Ali to Hamburg take?

Typically 24–30 days for a full container, through Suez to Hamburg or Bremerhaven. Routing via Rotterdam takes 22–28 days and then road for the west and south. When a line is down, air freight from Dubai to Frankfurt takes 2–4 days. We quote the route against your delivery address, CIF Hamburg or DAP to the site.

Can you deliver DAP to a plant in the Ruhr or to Wilhelmshaven?

Yes. The leg from the port of entry is domestic movement under the customs union and it is priced with the order. For the Ruhr, a Rotterdam landing is usually the shorter road leg; for Wilhelmshaven and the north, Hamburg or Bremerhaven. Give us the site address and goods-in hours and the delivery is quoted to the gate.

What does the importer need from us to clear goods into Germany?

The importer raises the EU entry into free circulation at the port of entry; we supply the commercial invoice, packing list, a Dubai Chamber attested Certificate of Origin, the PED declaration where an assembly is above threshold, our REACH position on the compounds, and material and test certificates where the order calls for them. The file is complete before the vessel sails.

How do you check an SS316L or GOST fitting against our drawing?

Against the drawing, not the part description. The pattern and thread form are confirmed line by line before dispatch, because a description that matches and a thread that does not is the commonest reason an export machine fails at commissioning. Send the drawing revision with the enquiry, and flag any line where the destination standard differs from the German catalogue part.

Do you supply lay flat hose and slurry drag hose to Germany?

Yes. TPU slurry supply and drag hose goes to German contractors for trailing-hose and injection spreading, and large-bore lay flat hose for dewatering, flood pumping and temporary water lines, with Storz, grooved and flanged couplings in sizes up to 16". Hose ships from Dubai as bulk coils up to 400 m or as made-up assemblies with couplings fitted, with the size table and pressure rating for each bore.
