Supplying the Netherlands, in detail

When is a Dutch distributor the better choice than you?

Whenever the item is standard and the need is this week, and we will say so. Dutch distribution is excellent. What brings buyers to us is the pattern that is not stocked locally — SS316L thread forms, GOST couplings, API-monogrammed assemblies, sour-service material with traceable documentation — which is a factory order in Europe and held stock for us, shipped to Rotterdam in 22–28 days.

Goods cleared at Rotterdam go on to Germany — does the PED paperwork need redoing there?

No. A consignment entered into free circulation at Rotterdam does not clear again at a second EU border, and the PED declaration of conformity for assemblies above the 2014/68/EU threshold travels with the goods to the final address. Below the threshold sound engineering practice applies and there is no mark. We state which side each line falls on at quotation rather than marking everything to be safe.

Will you tell us the REACH status of the hose compounds before we order?

Yes, it is in the quotation rather than left for you to ask. We state our position on the elastomer compounds supplied, and where a compound carries a restriction relevant to your application we say so and offer an alternative. A buyer who has to chase the REACH answer after the order has already lost a week, so we do not make you.

Can you clear at Rotterdam and deliver inland to another EU country?

Yes — that is a large share of this lane. Goods clear once at Rotterdam into free circulation and move inland under the customs union as domestic movement, so a consignment for a buyer in Germany, Austria or Czechia does not stop at another border. Tell us the final delivery address and we quote the inland leg on DAP terms rather than stopping at the quay.

Our head office is in the Netherlands but the dredger is working abroad — where should the goods go?

To the vessel, on one Estimate invoiced wherever you like. Shipping to the Netherlands and forwarding on is usually the expensive way round, and when the project is in the Gulf or East Africa we are often closer to it than your office is. Give us the invoicing entity and the delivery point separately and we quote DAP to the project site.

Do you supply large-bore transfer hose for dredging and bulk terminals?

Yes, alongside the hydraulic range. Large-bore industrial transfer hose and couplings for water, slurry, air and bulk duties are part of the catalogue, and they ship with the hydraulic hose and fittings for the same vessel or terminal on one consignment. Send the bore, media, working pressure and end connections and we confirm the construction and the certificates that come with it.

Can you deliver to the offshore bases at Den Helder and Eemshaven?

Yes, on DAP terms. Cargo lands at Rotterdam and the road leg north to Den Helder or Eemshaven is priced with the order, not estimated afterwards. For North Sea platform work out of Den Helder, valves and assemblies can carry NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 documentation with traceability where the contract requires it, confirmed at quotation rather than produced afterwards.

How long does sea freight from Jebel Ali to Rotterdam take?

Typically 22–28 days for a full container, from Jebel Ali through Suez and up the Atlantic to Rotterdam. Small mixed orders consolidated through a European hub run 28–36 days. When a line is down, air freight from Dubai to Amsterdam Schiphol takes 2–4 days. The sea lane suits planned maintenance and project supply rather than breakdowns.

Can a container land at Amsterdam or Vlissingen instead of Rotterdam?

Yes, where the berth suits the sailing. Rotterdam is the default, but Amsterdam is sensible for a delivery in North Holland or the IJmond, and Vlissingen for Zeeland and the Terneuzen estate. Clearance is the same at each — one entry into free circulation — so we pick the port against your delivery address and say which in the quotation.

What does the importer need from us to enter goods with Dutch Customs?

The importer raises the entry into free circulation through Dutch Customs on arrival; we supply the commercial invoice, packing list, a Dubai Chamber attested Certificate of Origin, the PED declaration where an assembly is above threshold, our REACH position on the compounds, and material and test certificates where the order calls for them. All of it is prepared before the vessel sails.

Can you build hose assemblies to length for Dutch offshore and dredging equipment?

Yes. We make assemblies to your lengths, fitting orientation and end standards in Dubai, so they arrive ready to fit rather than as hose and loose ends. Material and test certificates come from the mill or our test bench where the order calls for them. Send the drawing or the old assembly’s markings, working pressure and media, and we confirm before cutting.

Do you supply lay flat hose to the Netherlands?

Yes. Large-bore TPU lay flat hose goes to Dutch contractors for water management, temporary pumping and dewatering, and as supply and drag hose for slurry injection systems. Lines from 4" to 16" are supplied with grooved, Storz or flanged couplings. Hose ships from Dubai as bulk coils up to 400 m or as made-up assemblies with couplings fitted, with the size table and pressure rating for each bore.
