Supplying Sweden, in detail

Do assemblies bound for Kiruna or Gällivare come with a low-temperature compound statement?

Yes, for anything going north. A standard nitrile stiffens well before the temperatures the northern mining belt works in, so a hose chosen on bore and pressure alone is the wrong hose by December. We specify a low-temperature compound, put it in writing at quotation, and say plainly when a catalogue item is unsuitable — a more useful answer than supplying exactly what was asked for.

How long does an order take to reach the mine gate at Kiruna or Gällivare?

Typically 34–42 days from dispatch: 28–34 days by sea from Jebel Ali through Suez to Gothenburg, then the long domestic road leg north. We quote it on DAP terms to the mine gate, with the road leg priced in the order rather than estimated. For a machine that is down, air freight into Stockholm Arlanda takes 2–4 days before the road journey north.

Can northern cargo come in through Luleå rather than being trucked up from Gothenburg?

In season, yes. Luleå serves the northern mining belt when the Gulf of Bothnia is open, and landing there shortens the road leg to Kiruna, Gällivare and the Norrbotten steel works considerably. Outside the season Gothenburg plus the road journey is the reliable route. Tell us the site and the date the goods are needed, and the quotation states which port and route it assumes.

Our plant is in Gävleborg or Västmanland — is an east-coast landing better than Gothenburg?

Often, yes, when the delivery sits on the east coast and the road leg from Gothenburg would cross the country. Gothenburg takes the direct sailing and serves the west and south, so it is the default for almost everything. For a plant around Stockholm, Västerås, Gävle or Sandviken, landing on the east coast shortens the inland leg. Tell us the delivery town and we route accordingly.

Our mine's supplier audit asks for material traceability — what can you provide?

Mill certificates traceable to heat number, where the contract requires them, issued by the mill or our test bench. The point is to confirm them at quotation rather than reconstruct them after an auditor asks, because a certificate tied to the actual heat has to be requested before the goods are picked. Tell us which lines need it and at what level, and we confirm what is obtainable before you order.

We are converting underground loaders to a fire-resistant fluid — what has to change on the hydraulics?

More than the fluid. Fire-resistant fluids carry less load and are harder on components than mineral oil, so seals, hose linings and sometimes permissible operating pressures change with them. A conversion that does not revisit what the fluid touches produces failures that look random and are not. Send the fluid designation with the existing hose specifications and we identify which assemblies and seals must change before the conversion, not after.

Do you supply hose for underground drill rigs and loaders working at depth?

Yes — high-pressure hose with abrasion-resistant covers, made up to length with fittings matched to the machine. Underground, a failed hose is a fire risk as well as a stoppage, so cover material, fluid compatibility and routing matter as much as the pressure rating. Send the machine, the fluid and the old assembly's dimensions and end fittings, and goods go DAP to the mine workshop.

We build machines in Sweden — do the hose assemblies we fit arrive with a PED declaration?

Where the assembly is above the pressure-volume threshold in PED 2014/68/EU, yes: we issue the declaration of conformity as the assembler and it travels with the goods. Below the threshold sound engineering practice applies and there is no mark. For a production build we state against each line which side of the threshold it falls on, so your own documentation is not left to guess.

Do you supply hydraulics for the new green-steel plant around Boden?

Yes, for new-build and commissioning work as well as spares — high-force cylinders, servo valves and heat-resistant hose built to the drawing. Cargo goes to Luleå in season or Gothenburg otherwise, then DAP to the site. The PED position is stated per line at quotation, mill certificates traceable to heat number are confirmed where the contract calls for them, and outdoor lines get a low-temperature compound.

Do intake-gate cylinders at a Norrland hydro station need a different hose for winter?

Usually, yes. Gate and intake assemblies sit outside or in unheated structures through a long northern winter, and a standard nitrile stiffens well above those temperatures. We specify a low-temperature compound for exposed lines and keep the catalogue default for those inside the powerhouse. Send the gate and governor line list with where each runs; for a planned outage, order early enough for the sea lane.

Do you supply lay flat hose to Sweden?

Yes. TPU and NBR lay flat hose goes to Sweden for mine and construction dewatering, and TPU snowmaking hose to winter sports operators. TPU hose is rated from -50 °C, so it stays flexible in Nordic winters; rigid-helix suction hose is supplied for pump inlets. Hose ships from Dubai as bulk coils up to 400 m or as made-up assemblies with couplings fitted, with the size table and pressure rating for each bore.
