Supplying DR Congo, in detail

Who supplies hydraulic hose and mining equipment to the DRC from Dubai?

Indus Hydraulics ships hydraulic hose, fittings, slurry valves, cylinders and industrial hose from Dubai to the DRC. Katanga deliveries go by sea to Durban and road through Kasumbalesa, typically 30–40 days, or via Dar es Salaam; Kinshasa and the west go through Matadi in 32–40 days. Invoices and packing lists are issued in French, and air freight takes five to seven days.

Which routing is right for our delivery in the DRC?

It depends on the delivery town. Lubumbashi, Likasi and Kolwezi go overland from Durban through Kasumbalesa, or from Dar es Salaam; Kinshasa, Matadi and the west go through the Atlantic port of Matadi. Routing a consignment the wrong way costs weeks and thousands of kilometres, so the delivery town is the first thing we ask for at quotation.

How long does shipping from Dubai to Lubumbashi take?

Typically 30–40 days by sea from Jebel Ali to Durban and then road up the North-South Corridor to the Kasumbalesa border and on to Lubumbashi. Dar es Salaam is the alternative routing for Katanga. For a plant-down, air freight into Lubumbashi takes five to seven days and is quoted per shipment. Dispatch dates are confirmed on the Estimate.

Can you supply the copper and cobalt mines in Katanga?

Yes. Slurry valves, four-spiral hose, high-cycle cylinders and crusher-duty components are the bulk of what we ship into the belt, with material certificates where the contract calls for them. Where hose meets acidic leach solution or reagents, send the medium, concentration and temperature: the answer is often a chemical or composite hose rather than rubber, and we will say so.

Can you deliver to Kolwezi and Likasi?

Yes, on DAP terms to the mine gate. Consignments clear the Kasumbalesa border and continue by road to Likasi and Kolwezi; the leg beyond Kasumbalesa is quoted rather than estimated, because it depends on load, route and border queues. Mines in Lualaba often combine the planned shutdown requirement into one consignment so the road leg is paid once.

Do the shipping documents have to be in French for DR Congo?

Yes. The commercial invoice and packing list are issued in French, and they have to match the transit paperwork for whichever corridor the consignment takes, whether through South Africa and Zambia from Durban or through Tanzania from Dar es Salaam. We prepare the French documents before dispatch so the forwarder’s transit documents are built on the same line descriptions.

Which documents are needed to import hydraulic parts into the DRC?

The set is pre-shipment verification for regulated goods by an appointed inspection body before the vessel sails, transit documents for the corridor countries from the nominated forwarder, the invoice and packing list in French, a Certificate of Origin attested by Dubai Chamber, and material and test certificates where the order calls for them. Anything further is confirmed at quotation.

Is air freight available to the DRC?

Yes: five to seven days from Dubai into Kinshasa N’djili or Lubumbashi, quoted per shipment. It is the answer for a plant-down on the belt, when a crusher, haul truck or pump is stopped for one assembly. For planned maintenance, sea and road cost a fraction of air, and the verification and French documents take the same time either way.

Do you crimp and pressure-test hose assemblies before shipping to Katanga mine sites?

Yes. Assemblies are cut to length, crimped and pressure-tested in Dubai and shipped as finished items, tagged with the hose, the fitting and the test date. On a 30–40 day lane, a tagged assembly that can be reordered by reference is worth more than loose hose and fittings, and it avoids crimping on site with the wrong dies.

Which hose standards suit Katanga mining equipment?

Four-spiral hose to EN 856 or ISO 18752 is the usual choice for high-pressure, high-impulse circuits on drills, loaders and haul trucks, with SAE J517 and EN 853 for lower-pressure lines. Fittings are supplied in BSP, JIC, ORFS, NPT and metric threads. Abrasion-resistant covers and spring guards matter as much as pressure rating on mine equipment.

Can you supply lifting and rigging equipment to DRC mine sites?

Yes. Wire rope and chain slings, shackles, hooks and rigging hardware are supplied for mine maintenance, plant shutdowns and construction, with test certificates where the order calls for them. Whether a line counts as regulated for pre-shipment verification is confirmed from the part numbers at quotation, and the French documents cover lifting gear like the rest of the consignment.

How do I get a quotation from the DRC?

Send the part numbers or specification, quantities, the delivery town and your preferred Incoterm: DAP to site, CIF Durban or Matadi, FOB Jebel Ali or EXW Dubai for your own forwarder. We quote in USD on a written Estimate stating the routing and freight mode, and route the consignment once, correctly, from the delivery town you give us.
