Supplying Liberia, in detail

How long does shipping from Dubai to Monrovia take?

Full-container sea freight from Jebel Ali to Monrovia typically takes 30–36 days from dispatch, because the routing is around the Cape of Good Hope. Small mixed orders shipped LCL, consolidated with transshipment, take 36–44 days. When a line is down, air freight from DXB to Roberts International (ROB) takes six to eight days and is quoted per shipment.

Which documents are needed to import into Liberia?

Regulated goods are inspected by the appointed inspection body before the vessel sails, and the consignee files the import permit declaration with the ministry before shipment. We supply the packing list and a certificate of origin attested by the Dubai Chamber, the carrier issues the bill of lading, and material and test certificates are included where the order calls for them.

Is the documentation for Liberia in English?

Yes. Liberia clears imports on English-language documentation, which removes the translation risk that catches out consignments to the francophone lanes either side, in Guinea and Côte d’Ivoire. The descriptions still have to match across the invoice, packing list and permit, so we fix them at quotation.

Should I ship to Monrovia or Buchanan?

Ship to Monrovia for general cargo, the plantations around Harbel and deliveries inland to Kakata or Gbarnga. Ship to Buchanan where the delivery is on the ore terminals or heading up the rail corridor towards Yekepa, since it saves the road leg from the capital. Tell us the final site at enquiry and we quote the right port.

Can you supply the iron ore operations in Nimba and at Buchanan?

Yes. We supply slurry valves, four-spiral hose, high-cycle cylinders and crusher-duty components for the mines, and swivels, rotary unions and hose assemblies for the stackers, reclaimers and ship loaders at the Buchanan terminal, with material certificates where the contract calls for them.

Can you deliver to Yekepa?

Yes, on DAP terms to the site gate. The inland leg from Buchanan or Monrovia to Yekepa in Nimba County is quoted rather than estimated, and the delivery point is named on the documents from the start. Contractors with their own rail or road logistics can take delivery at Buchanan instead.

Why does a ship loader keep leaking at the same point after the hose is replaced?

Usually because the rotating joint is worn, not the hose. Stackers, reclaimers and ship loaders slew continuously, and a swivel or rotary union reaches the end of its life on turns rather than pressure, showing as a slow weep blamed on the hose it feeds. Inspect the joint first, and hold one as a spare: its lead time is longer than a hose assembly’s.

Do you supply hydraulic and transfer hose for rubber and palm-oil plantations?

Yes. We supply hydraulic hose assemblies and fittings for tractors, loaders and processing machinery, and transfer hose with cam and groove or other couplings for latex, palm oil, water and fuel. Transfer hose is selected on the medium and temperature rather than pressure alone, so tell us what flows through the line.

Do you make up hose assemblies to length before dispatch for Liberia?

Yes. Assemblies are cut, crimped and pressure-tested in Dubai and shipped as finished items, each tagged with the hose, the fittings and the test date. A workshop at a mine or plantation fits a tested assembly rather than crimping one locally, and reorders the identical part from its tag.

How do I request a quotation from Liberia?
