Supplying Moldova, in detail

Why are Moldovan quotations in euros rather than dollars?

Because the contracts and the Romanian transit leg are settled in euros. Quoting dollars would put a conversion in the middle of a file that is otherwise entirely euro-denominated, and the buyer would carry it. The euro quotation covers the same terms we offer elsewhere: DAP to the buyer’s site, CIF Constanța, FOB Jebel Ali, or EXW Dubai for a forwarder you nominate.

What technical documentation does Moldova ask for on hydraulic equipment?

Moldova’s technical documentation is aligned to the European framework. Where a line falls under a regulation, a declaration of conformity is prepared at origin before the vessel sails; where it does not, there is nothing to obtain. The rest of the file is the EU transit declaration for the Romanian leg, the Moldovan customs import declaration raised by the importer through the Customs Service, and a Dubai Chamber attested certificate of origin.

Constanța or Giurgiulești for a Moldovan consignment?

Constanța and the road north for containerised stock, which is faster and covers most orders. Giurgiulești, Moldova’s own Danube port in the far south, can be the better answer for bulk or project cargo. Tell us what the consignment is and where it is going — Chișinău, Bălți, Cahul or a farm in the north — and we say which suits the actual order rather than defaulting to either.

What usually holds a consignment up at Leușeni?

A mismatch between the two customs files. The EU transit declaration raised at Constanța and the Moldovan import declaration describe the same cargo and must agree line for line; where they do not, the consignment waits at the border rather than at either customs office, and the border is the expensive place to discover a discrepancy. That is why both files are prepared before the vessel sails, not on arrival.

How much of the 24–32 day transit is the road leg from Constanța?

Very little. Constanța to Chișinău is about a day by road once cleared; the sea leg from Jebel Ali through Suez makes up most of the typical 24–32 days from dispatch. What varies is clearance, which is why the transit file is ready before sailing. Small mixed orders consolidated to Constanța run 30–40 days, and air freight to Chișinău takes 3–5 days, usually with a connection.

Why consolidate Moldovan orders onto one transit declaration?

Because every consignment on this lane carries two customs files, and each extra consignment repeats both. There is no minimum order, but on a lane with a Romanian road leg it is usually worth grouping items so one transit declaration and one Moldovan entry cover the lot. We say when an item is better added to the next consignment, and when it is urgent enough to justify air freight on its own.

How should a Moldovan farm prepare its harvester hydraulics before the season?

Use the idle months. Inspect the assemblies that flex and chafe, replace anything doubtful before harvest rather than during it, and hold the two or three assemblies that would stop a machine. That is cheap in June and priceless in September, when a standing crop makes almost any expedited freight rational. Ordering in early summer lets the sea lane through Constanța do the work instead of air freight.

Yes. We hold GOST-pattern couplings and adapters alongside DIN, BSP, JIC and ORFS ranges, so a fleet that mixes European machinery with older Soviet-era equipment can be supplied on one order and one transit declaration. Send photographs of the existing fittings where the standard is uncertain; seat angle, thread form and sealing method are the three things we confirm before quoting, without anything being dismantled.

What hose do Moldovan wineries use for must and wine transfer?

Food-grade transfer hose with a smooth liner suitable for wine and must, fitted with couplings that can be cleaned to the same standard as the rest of the line. The choice depends on whether the hose sees suction as well as delivery, the cleaning regime and its temperature, and the coupling standard already used in the cellar. Tell us all three and we specify the hose and fittings together.

Who raises the Moldovan customs entry, and when?

The importer, through the Customs Service, before the goods arrive at the border. It is the second of the two customs files on this lane, after the EU transit declaration for the Romanian leg raised by the forwarder at Constanța. We supply the commercial invoice, packing list, attested certificate of origin and any declaration of conformity in matching wording, so the entry agrees with the transit declaration line for line.
