Supplying Colombia, in detail

Is Cartagena or Buenaventura the right port for a delivery in Cali?

It is genuinely arguable, and we settle it against your delivery address at quotation. Cartagena is 32 to 40 days round the Cape and is clearly right for the coast, Bogotá and Medellín. Buenaventura is a short road leg from Cali but needs the Panama Canal on top of the Cape, at 44 to 56 days. For the Cauca valley and the south-west the Pacific usually wins once the road leg from the Caribbean is counted.

Which of our lines fall inside ICONTEC's regulated list?

ICONTEC is the certification body for Colombia's regulated products, and the list is defined — much industrial hose and fittings falls outside it. Where a line is inside, the conformity certificate from ICONTEC or an accredited body attaches to the product rather than the shipment, so it is obtained once and holds for future orders. We settle which lines are affected at quotation, before the container is loaded.

What does the importer need in VUCE before you ship?

An import registry entry raised through VUCE that covers every tariff line on the order. It is checked before anything else, because a registry that misses one line holds the whole consignment. Send the registry details with the purchase order and we match the Spanish descriptions on our invoice and packing list to it, so the declaration the importer lodges with DIAN before arrival agrees with the paperwork.

How long from Jebel Ali to Cartagena by sea, or to Bogotá by air?

Typically 32 to 40 days FCL from dispatch to Cartagena, sailing round the Cape of Good Hope; Barranquilla is the alternative on the same Caribbean coast. Buenaventura on the Pacific runs 44 to 56 days via the Panama Canal. Air freight from Dubai into Bogotá (BOG) takes 5 to 8 days with a connection, which is the option when a line is down. Documents are prepared before the vessel sails.

Can you deliver DAP to Llanos field bases at Yopal or Villavicencio?

Yes. On DAP terms we deliver to the base or the site gate in Casanare or Meta, typically via Yopal or Villavicencio. The leg beyond Bogotá climbs over the Eastern Cordillera and is quoted rather than estimated, together with the sea freight, so the delivered figure is a real one. Tell us the operator's gate requirements and any site paperwork when you place the order.

Our equipment is North American — can you work from the OEM part number?

Yes, send the number exactly as printed. An original-equipment part number is a supplier catalogue reference, and it usually maps to something we hold under a different code; our replacement cross-reference covers a large set of manufacturer numbers. Where a number resolves to more than one candidate, the difference is normally seal material or seat angle, and we ask which applies rather than guess.

Which API and NACE documents can accompany wellhead equipment for the Llanos and Magdalena fields?

Manufacturer monogram and licence documentation, NACE MR0175 material documentation where the contract requires it, and material and test certificates from the mill or our test bench. We supply API 6A wellhead, API 16A BOP, API 16C choke and kill and API 7K drilling hose, in makes including TechnipFMC, Cameron (SLB), SPM, Anson, Stream-Flo and WOM. The document set is confirmed line by line at quotation.

Which hose holds up on the open-pit coal fleets of La Guajira and Cesar?

Hose with an abrasion-resistant cover and an impulse rating matched to the duty, because coal dust and heat wear covers faster than pressure alone suggests. We supply high-pressure hose, crimp fittings, couplings and made-up assemblies for haul trucks, shovels, dozers and drills, and for the rail and port loading that moves the coal to the coast. Tell us the machine and where each line runs; cargo lands on the Caribbean coast, the nearest gateway.

Can a refinery turnaround order for Barrancabermeja or Cartagena be shipped as one consignment?

Yes, and turnarounds are where the sea lane earns its keep. Valves, gaskets, transfer and steam hose, fittings and lifting gear for a planned shutdown can be quoted from the work-pack list, batched and shipped once to Cartagena in 32 to 40 days, rather than bought piecemeal at short notice. The inland leg to Barrancabermeja is quoted, not estimated.

Can you match spillway-gate and governor parts on older hydro plant in Antioquia?

Yes — cylinders, hose, fittings, valves and power-unit components for turbine governors, intake and spillway gates, and penstock valves. Hydro carries most of Colombian generation and much of it sits in Antioquia and along the Andean rivers, so delivery is usually CIF Cartagena with road haulage inland, or DAP to the plant. Send the nameplate data and existing part numbers and we match them rather than approximate.

Do you supply hydraulics for tunnelling and road works on the 4G concessions?

Yes — hose, fittings, cylinders and valves for excavators, drill jumbos, cranes and batching plants working the 4G road concessions through the cordillera. Tunnelling and mountain earthworks combine water, abrasion and high cycle counts, so tell us the machine and the duty. Fleets mix North American, European and Asian makes with different thread systems; send the part number or a photo of the fitting and we match it.
