Do sanctions on Venezuela’s oil sector affect whether you can quote?

Yes, and they are the first question rather than the last. Venezuela is subject to sanctions measures that reach the oil sector specifically, and international restrictions on certain entities, sectors and end uses bind us as the supplier. We carry out counterparty and end-use screening before a quotation is issued. Giving us the end user, the site and the application up front is the fastest route to an answer, and where we cannot satisfy ourselves we decline plainly rather than let the enquiry go quiet.

Why is payment routing agreed before a Venezuelan order ships?

Because on this lane screening and settlement are one question, not two. A consignment that cannot be paid for compliantly is not one we should have loaded, so the payment routing is confirmed alongside the counterparty and end-use screening rather than left until dispatch. We quote in USD, and the settlement route is fixed before the goods leave Jebel Ali, not assumed.

What hose and fittings hold up in Orinoco extra-heavy crude service?

Ones specified for the duty, not taken from a conventional-service catalogue. Orinoco crude is abrasive, viscous and worked at temperature, and hose, seals and fittings rated for ordinary service fail early on it. Once screening has cleared, tell us the position in the process, the operating temperature and the pressure, and we confirm the specification line by line — and say where a standard specification is the wrong choice.

How long does a container take to reach Puerto Cabello once screening has cleared?

Typically 32 to 40 days from dispatch by FCL, sailing from Jebel Ali through Suez and across the Atlantic; consolidated LCL with transhipment runs 40 to 52 days. We can commit to the port within that band once screening has cleared and the payment route is confirmed. Documents are prepared after screening clears, not before, so the clock starts from that decision.

Should cargo for Venezuela land at Puerto Cabello or La Guaira?

Puerto Cabello for most cargo, including the Valencia and Carabobo industrial belt and onward road delivery west towards Barquisimeto and Maracaibo. La Guaira is the port for Caracas and the capital region. We quote CIF Puerto Cabello by default, FOB Jebel Ali or EXW Dubai for a nominated forwarder, and DAP only where the route can be committed.

Can you deliver inland to Maracaibo, Maturín or El Tigre?

Only on a route we can commit to, and that is quoted per consignment rather than published. Many enquiries are for Zulia or the eastern fields around Maturín, El Tigre and Anaco, a long road leg from the port. Where an inland delivery can be committed we quote DAP to the site; where it cannot, we quote to the port and the importer’s forwarder takes it on.

Does Venezuela run a pre-shipment conformity scheme for industrial hose and fittings?

No blanket pre-shipment conformity scheme applies to industrial hose and fittings. The file is the importer’s customs declaration raised before arrival, a Dubai Chamber attested certificate of origin and Spanish documents whose descriptions agree across invoice, packing list and declaration. What matters technically is the end user’s specification and the material documentation that goes with it — all after screening clears.

Can wellhead and pressure-control equipment for Venezuela be supplied to API specification?

Where screening clears, yes: API 6A wellhead, API 16A BOP, API 16C choke and kill and API 7K drilling hose, with NACE MR0175 material documentation where the contract requires it. Oilfield equipment is exactly where the sanctions measures on this market bite, so the counterparty, the field and the end use are established before any specification work begins, and some of these enquiries will be declined.
