Supplying Philippines, in detail

Is hydraulic hose covered by the PS licence or the ICC mark?

Often not, but the part list decides. The PS licence, held by the manufacturer, and the ICC clearance, issued per shipment by the Bureau of Philippine Standards, are the two routes through the regulated-product scheme, and they apply to a defined list. A great deal of industrial hose and fittings sits outside it. Send the part list at quotation and we say which lines, if any, need clearance, rather than certifying everything to be safe.

What transit should a Luzon buyer plan on from Jebel Ali?

Typically 19–25 days from dispatch to Manila or Batangas for a full container, routed through the Strait of Malacca. Cargo for Cebu, Davao or Cagayan de Oro is transhipped onto a domestic sailing and takes 26–35 days in total. Air freight from DXB to Manila (MNL) takes 3–5 days. Any PS or ICC clearance is arranged before loading, so it does not add to the sailing.

When is Batangas a better port than Manila?

When Manila is congested or the delivery sits south of the capital. Manila suits most of Luzon, including Quezon City, Bulacan and Central Luzon. Batangas is closer to the Calabarzon estates in Laguna and Batangas and to the refinery and terminal sites on Batangas Bay. Name the delivery town at enquiry and we choose the port against it rather than defaulting to Manila.

What does the importer file with the Bureau of Customs, and what do you supply for it?

The importer lodges the import entry and internal revenue declaration through the Bureau of Customs before arrival. We prepare the documents it rests on: commercial invoice and packing list, a Certificate of Origin attested by the Dubai Chamber, the PS licence or ICC clearance where a line is listed, and material and test certificates where the order calls for them. Matching descriptions across all of them keep the entry from being queried.

Why is a Visayas or Mindanao delivery quoted separately from Manila?

Because the international sailing reaches Luzon and nowhere else. Cargo for Cebu, Iloilo, Davao or Cagayan de Oro waits for a domestic feeder, which adds a week or more however clean the paperwork is. Shipping to Manila and reconsigning later adds handling as well. Name the city where the goods are used, not the country, and the quotation states the real arrival date and the domestic leg.

Can you supply nickel mines in Surigao and the Caraga region?

Yes. Goods reach Mindanao on the domestic leg into Cagayan de Oro or Davao, and the move from the regional port to the mine site is quoted rather than estimated, because road conditions and the wet season change it. Laterite mining is wet, abrasive and dusty, so we specify hose covers, fittings and seals for abrasion and cycle life as well as pressure, and pack by machine or pit.

Which hose survives geothermal steam and H2S at Philippine plants?

Usually PTFE-lined or specific alloy metallic assemblies, chosen against the actual fluid analysis. Geothermal fluid at fields such as Tiwi, Makban and Leyte arrives hot, wet and carrying hydrogen sulphide; ordinary rubber constructions fail on temperature, and several stainless grades are vulnerable to sulphide stress cracking. Send the fluid composition, temperature and pressure, and the specification follows from it rather than from the word geothermal.

Do you supply valves and wellhead parts for Philippine gas and refinery work?

Yes. We supply TechnipFMC, Cameron (SLB), SPM, Anson, Stream-Flo and WOM equipment, so valves, flow iron and wellhead parts for the Batangas terminals, the Limay refinery or offshore gas work can ship with hydraulic hose. API 6A wellhead, API 16A BOP, API 16C choke and kill and API 7K drilling hose are available, with NACE MR0175 material documentation where the contract requires it. Ratings and certificates are confirmed per line at quotation.

Can a consignment go on from Manila to a Subic Bay Freeport or Clark address?

Yes, on DAP terms, by road from Manila. Subic Bay Freeport and Clark in Central Luzon are an overland leg from the port rather than a separate sailing, and that leg is priced at quotation. For shipyard and freeport deliveries, tell us the zone’s gate-entry and paperwork requirements at enquiry, so the truck is not held at the freeport gate.

Can wire rope slings and shackles for Subic Bay or Balamban yard work ship with our hydraulic order?

Yes. Wire rope and chain slings, shackles, hooks and lifting hardware ship from Dubai marked with their working load limit and with the manufacturer’s test certificates the order calls for, alongside hydraulic parts. Whether a lifting line falls on the PS or ICC list is checked from the part list at quotation. On-site inspection and the yard’s lifting records remain with your appointed inspector.

Does air freight into Manila help a mine or plant in the Visayas or Mindanao?

Sometimes, for a line that is down. Air takes 3–5 days from DXB to Manila against 19–25 days by sea, but the onward move to an outer island still has to be booked, and it does not run faster because the goods arrived by air. For a planned shutdown, sea freight planned back from the outage date is usually the better answer.
