Why does a shipment to Burundi take five to six weeks?

Because the road leg from Dar es Salaam is about fourteen hundred kilometres and crosses Tanzania as a transit country. The container clears as Tanzanian transit at Dar es Salaam and as a Burundian import at Kobero. The road leg is the variable in the delivery date, so it is quoted rather than estimated, and the quotation names where our responsibility ends.

Dar es Salaam or Mombasa for Burundi cargo?

Dar es Salaam for most orders: the Central Corridor is the shorter road and runs typically 32–40 days to Bujumbura. Mombasa and the Northern Corridor through Rwanda runs 35–44 days and is the alternative routing, used mainly when Dar is congested. We quote both when the order is large enough for the difference to matter.

Who arranges the conformity certificate for Burundi?

We do, through an appointed inspection body, before the container sails. It covers the regulated lines on the consignment, so the part list needs to be complete at quotation rather than at order. The Tanzanian transit documents are raised with the invoice rather than at the border, which keeps the corridor leg from stalling at Dar es Salaam.

Which documents does a consignment to Bujumbura need?

The certificate of conformity verified before shipment; Tanzanian transit documents for the corridor leg, handled by the nominated forwarder at Dar es Salaam; the import declaration, lodged by the consignee or clearing agent before arrival; and a Certificate of Origin attested by the Dubai Chamber. Material and test certificates from the mill or our test bench are added where the order calls for them.

Can you deliver outside Bujumbura, to Gitega, Ngozi or Rumonge?

Yes, on DAP terms to the site gate. Burundi is compact and the inland legs are short, but they are quoted rather than estimated. That includes Gitega and Ngozi in the interior, Rumonge and Makamba in the south, and sites in Muyinga Province near the Kobero crossing, which a Central Corridor consignment passes on its way in.

Can you supply the Lake Tanganyika port at Bujumbura?

Yes. Deck machinery, crane and winch hydraulics, and industrial hose for terminal handling are standard supply. The port handles lake cargo to and from Kigoma and Mpulungu, so its cranes and vessels fail at the same points as any terminal — hoist circuits, slew drives and hose — and we can advise which spares are worth holding on a 32–40 day lane.

Should I order the whole assembly rather than just the failed part?

On a lane this long, usually yes. Resupply to Bujumbura takes five to six weeks by sea and road, so ordering only the broken component and then finding its seal, clamp or mating half also needs replacing costs a second round trip. Yes, typically five to seven days from Dubai to Bujumbura, quoted per shipment. It is the right choice for a machine that is down and an expensive one for planned stock, which normally moves by sea and road via Dar es Salaam. Urgent lines can fly while the rest of the order follows by sea, under the same quotation.
