Metallic Hoses
Metallic hose is corrugated metal tubing, usually stainless steel or a nickel alloy, with a wire braid that carries the pressure, used where heat, cold, fire, gas permeation or aggressive chemicals rule out rubber and plastic hose. On this page Indus supplies from Dubai annular and helical stainless hose, Inconel 625, Hastelloy C276, Monel 400 and bronze hose, high-pressure, cryogenic, oxygen, chlorine, steam-jacketed and heated assemblies, fire jackets, hose guards and couplings, from Thorburn Flex, Senior Flexonics, Hose Master, Witzenmann and Dixon.
Metal hose for what rubber cannot take
Corrugated metal hose is chosen where temperature, permeation, fire or the medium rules out rubber and thermoplastic: steam, hot oil, cryogenic liquids, industrial gases and aggressive chemicals. Annular corrugated hose suits most process duties, and a stainless braid over it carries the pressure.
Specify the medium, pressure, temperature, bore, length and end connections, and whether the hose moves in service. Movement matters as much as pressure: metal hose lasts when it flexes in one plane and fails early when it is twisted.
ISO 10380 and the material certificates
Corrugated metal hose and hose assemblies are built to ISO 10380, with EN 10204 material certificates available. Listings offered for sour service state NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 compliance where it applies.
Delivery
Metallic Hoses across the Gulf
Ex-stock from Dubai, delivered within 3 working days in the UAE.
Industrial hose and the couplings that go on it are usually bought together, and both ship the same way: bulk lengths on the reel, made-up suction and delivery assemblies crated with their couplings already fitted, and loose couplings boxed. Where the duty is food-grade, chemical or steam the certificate is a large part of what is being purchased, so that documentation is prepared before dispatch rather than chased afterwards.

Questions we get asked
About this range
- 01Why do metal hoses fail early?
- Usually from torsion, or from flexing in more than one plane. Install a metal hose without twist, flex it in a single plane and keep it within its minimum bend radius. A hose twisted during installation, or asked to absorb movement in two directions, fatigues far faster than its pressure rating suggests.
- 02Do you supply PTFE hose as well?
- Yes — smoothbore and convoluted PTFE hose with stainless or polypropylene braid, for chemical transfer and high temperatures where a metal hose is not needed.
- 03What end connections are available?
- Flanges, threaded ends and couplings fitted to suit the line, including ANSI Class 150 flanged assemblies. Tell us the mating connection and we will confirm the build.
- 04Does a metal hose keep its pressure rating at high temperature?
- No. Published working pressures for metal hose are given at room temperature and fall as the temperature rises, because the strength of the braid, the corrugated tube and the end attachment all drop with heat. Each maker publishes temperature correction factors for its alloys and for how the ends are attached, welded, brazed or crimped. Multiply the rated pressure by the factor for your operating temperature and check the result still exceeds the line pressure, including surges. Send us the medium, pressure and temperature and we size the hose to them.
- 05What is the difference between static and dynamic bend radius on a metal hose?
- The static bend radius is the tightest bend for a hose that is bent once at installation and then stays put; the dynamic bend radius is the larger radius allowed for a hose that flexes repeatedly in service. Bending tighter than the dynamic radius on a moving hose concentrates strain in the corrugations and shortens its life sharply. Both figures depend on the bore, corrugation profile and braid, so take them from the listing for the hose you choose.
- 06Can a braided metal hose absorb axial expansion in a pipe run?
- Not directly. The braid locks the hose length, so a braided hose installed in line with the pipe cannot stretch or compress to take up thermal growth; it can only absorb movement at right angles to its axis or angular movement. To take axial expansion, install the hose in an offset or a loop, so pipe movement becomes a bend in the hose, or use an expansion joint. Pipe loops built for this purpose are on this shelf.
