How long does sea freight from Dubai to Misrata take?

The sea leg from Jebel Ali through Suez to Misrata is typically 12–18 days to the quay. Total time also depends on screening, which happens before we quote, and on the clearance that applies to the destination, which we confirm per consignment. We do not publish a door-to-door figure for Libya because it would not hold; the quotation states the routing for that shipment.

Why does the choice between Misrata and Benghazi matter?

Because administration is divided, and which clearance applies and what documentation is accepted depends on where the goods are going. A container sent to the wrong coast is not simply a longer road leg — it can be a consignment that cannot clear at all, and correcting it means a return leg across the Mediterranean. We confirm the port and the clearance per shipment, before dispatch.

Can you ship to Benghazi and the eastern terminals?

Yes, where screening clears and the routing can be confirmed. Eastern deliveries, including Benghazi and the terminals beyond, are quoted per consignment rather than run to a standing transit time, because the applicable port and clearance are settled against the actual destination first. Tell us the final delivery point, not just the city, so the routing is agreed before anything ships.

What screening do you carry out?

Counterparty and end-use screening, before we quote rather than after. We check who the buyer is, what the equipment is for and where it will be installed, because Libya is subject to measures that make the buyer and the end use the first question. Where we cannot satisfy ourselves, we decline plainly rather than issue a quotation we could not fulfil.

What certification or documents does Libyan customs need?

There is no blanket pre-shipment conformity scheme for industrial hose and fittings. What has to be right is the customs declaration, raised by the importer under the applicable administration, and our description has to support it. We supply a Certificate of Origin attested by Dubai Chamber, with the invoice and packing list in Arabic or English, and confirm the rest of the set at quotation.

Can you deliver beyond the port?

Only where the route can genuinely be committed. We quote DAP where that is true and CIF Misrata to the quay where it is not, and we say which on the quotation. For inland sites, including the southwestern fields around Ubari and Sabha, onward movement is confirmed against what is actually operating at the time rather than assumed.

Can you supply API-monogrammed equipment for Libyan fields?

Yes. API 6A wellhead, API 16A BOP, API 16C choke and kill and API 7K drilling hose, with NACE MR0175 material documentation where the contract requires it. We supply TechnipFMC, Cameron (SLB), SPM, Anson, Stream-Flo and WOM, so original parts for those makes can be quoted; for other makes we state the equivalent offered and what differs.

Can you identify fittings on plant that has stood idle for years?

Usually, from a photograph and a couple of measurements. Markings corrode, original suppliers move on and manuals go missing, but thread form and sealing method can normally be narrowed down from the outside diameter, the pitch and the seat — enough to specify a current equivalent. Do you carry cargo insurance on this lane?

Cover is arranged per consignment, and its scope varies with the routing. It is priced into the quotation, and we state what is and is not covered before you accept, rather than assuming a standard policy applies. Yes. Assemblies are crimped to length and pressure-tested in Dubai and shipped as finished items, tagged with the hose, the fitting and the test date. For restarted plant that is often the quickest fix: send a photograph of the old assembly, its length and the machine it serves, and we build a current equivalent rather than leaving your team to source crimp fittings locally.

Which language are the shipping documents in?

Arabic or English, as the importer and the applicable administration require. The invoice, packing list and Certificate of Origin are prepared in Dubai once screening clears, with descriptions written to support the importer’s customs declaration. Tell us at enquiry which language and which clearance apply to the destination, so the set is right the first time.

How do I request a quotation from Libya?

Send the part list or photographs, the end user, the installation site and the final delivery point.
