How long does sea freight take from Dubai to Port Sudan?

The sea leg from Jebel Ali to Port Sudan is five to eight days, down the Gulf and up the Red Sea, which makes it one of the shortest lanes we run. We will not publish a door-to-door time. Sudan has been in armed conflict since 2023, and which corridors operate beyond the quay changes, so onward routing and timing are confirmed for each consignment at quotation.

What screening do you carry out before quoting for Sudan?

We complete counterparty and end-use screening before we quote, not after an order is accepted. We check who the buyer is, what the equipment is for and where it will be installed, because Sudan is subject to measures that make those the first questions. Where we cannot satisfy ourselves, we decline plainly and promptly so you can look elsewhere without waiting.

Can you deliver beyond Port Sudan, to Atbara, Kassala or the Nile valley?

Only where a route can actually be committed. Where it can, we quote DAP to the named site. Where it cannot, we quote to the quay at Port Sudan and say so rather than implying a door delivery we cannot stand behind. Onward movement is checked against the corridors actually operating when the consignment is ready, not against a published map.

There is no blanket pre-shipment conformity scheme for industrial hose and fittings. The file is the Sudanese customs import declaration, raised by the importer before arrival, the commercial invoice and packing list, and a Certificate of Origin attested by the Dubai Chamber. Documents are prepared only after screening clears, and the full set travels with the goods.

Which Incoterms do you offer for shipments to Sudan?

We quote CIF Port Sudan, FOB Jebel Ali, or EXW Dubai for a forwarder you nominate. DAP is offered only where the onward route can genuinely be committed at the time of shipment. All quotations are in USD, the currency import contracts here are written in and the one the customs value is declared against.

Do you carry cargo insurance on the Port Sudan lane?

Cover is arranged per consignment, and its scope varies with the routing. It is priced into the quotation rather than assumed, and we state what is and is not covered before you accept. On a lane where conditions beyond the port change, knowing exactly where cover ends is as important as the premium itself.

Arabic and English are both workable for Sudanese customs. Yes. Because the sea leg is short, a planned consignment of consumables can arrive at the quay faster than on most African lanes, once screening clears.

Can you make up hydraulic hose assemblies to length for Sudan?

Yes. Assemblies are cut, crimped and pressure-tested in Dubai and shipped as finished items, each tagged with the hose, the fittings and the test date. We build to SAE J517, EN 853 and EN 856, or ISO 18752 constructions as specified. Send the length, end fittings and orientation, or the old assembly's tag.
