DIN 2353 Bite Type Adapters
DIN 2353 bite-type adapters are 24° cone tube fittings in which a hardened cutting ring bites into the outside of metric steel tube as the nut is tightened, sealing on the cone. This shelf carries Indus Hydraulics bite-type fittings from Dubai to DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 in light and heavy series: male stud connectors and elbows with BSPP, BSPT, NPT and metric ends, unions, elbows, tees, crosses, bulkheads, adjustable stud ends, weld connectors, banjos, nuts, cutting rings and blanking plugs.
Tube OD and series, then the shape
A bite-type fitting grips steel tube with a hardened cutting ring that bites into the tube as the nut is tightened, and seals on a 24° cone. It is sized by tube outside diameter, and each size comes in a light (L) and a heavy (S) series that do not interchange.
Measure the tube OD, establish the series from the existing nut or the system pressure, then choose the body — straight, elbow, tee, bulkhead, adjustable stud end or plug. Pre-set the ring with the proper tool where you can: a badly set ring is a common cause of a weeping joint.
ISO 8434-1, formerly DIN 2353
Bite-type 24° cone fittings were standardised as DIN 2353 and are now covered by ISO 8434-1, which defines the light (L) and heavy (S) series. Adjustable stud ends follow the port standards ISO 6149 and DIN 3852.

Delivery
DIN 2353 Bite Type Adapters across the Gulf
Ex-stock from Dubai, delivered within 3 working days in the UAE.
Hose and fittings are the bulk of what leaves this warehouse, and they travel well: a crated batch of assemblies with its crimp records, or a box of adapters on an airway bill. Buyers outside the UAE usually order to a measured list rather than to a part number, because a hose is defined by its ends, its length and its route rather than by a code. Send those and we will quote against them.

Questions we get asked
About this range
- 01Can I mix L and S series parts?
- No. For the same tube size the two series use different nut threads, and their pressure ratings differ. Identify the series from the existing parts before ordering.
- 02Do I need a new cutting ring when I remake a joint?
- A ring that has already bitten can be remade on the same tube end, but it should never be moved to a different tube. When the tube is cut back, fit a new ring.
- 03Do you supply blanking plugs?
- Yes — blanking plugs for cones, plugs for ports with ED seals, and plugs with nuts.
- 04Which nut thread goes with which tube size?
- Each tube OD and series has its own nut thread. Light series: 6L M12×1.5, 8L M14×1.5, 10L M16×1.5, 12L M18×1.5, 15L M22×1.5, 18L M26×1.5, 22L M30×2, 28L M36×2, 35L M45×2, 42L M52×2. Heavy series: 6S M14×1.5, 8S M16×1.5, 10S M18×1.5, 12S M20×1.5, 14S M22×1.5, 16S M24×1.5, 20S M30×2, 25S M36×2, 30S M42×2, 38S M52×2. Note that 12L and 10S share M18×1.5, so a thread that fits does not prove the tube size: check the tube OD too.
- 05What does a code like GE 12 L R1/2 mean?
- It is the DIN-style designation many makers use: the body type, the tube OD in millimetres, the series, then the port thread. GE is a male stud connector, so GE 12 L R1/2 is a straight stud connector for 12 mm tube, light series, with a 1/2″ BSP thread. Other common prefixes are WE (male stud elbow), GV (straight union), W (union elbow), T (union tee), K (union cross) and SV (bulkhead union). Suffixes for the stud seal and material vary by maker, so send the full code.
- 06What tube should be used with bite-type fittings?
- Seamless precision steel tube to EN 10305-4 (formerly DIN 2391/2445), annealed or normalised so it is softer than the cutting ring, with the OD matching the fitting. Cut the tube square with a saw guide or cutter, deburr inside and out, and check the wall is thick enough for the pressure. Thin-wall or soft tube needs a reinforcing insert so the ring has something to bite against. Make up the ring until it grips, then the further turn the maker specifies, commonly about one and a half.

A factory is the one environment where the thread population is a choice rather than an inheritance. Most plants never make that choice, and pay for it every week.

Metric 24° cone covers most of it, but the same tube size exists in two series with different threads. Knowing which one you are holding is the whole job.
