Size a fender on energy, not on size
A fender is selected on the berthing energy it must absorb and the reaction force the hull and the structure can take. The tables list published energy absorption and reaction at rated deflection where the maker gives them, with the principal dimensions against the drawing. For a berth design, send the vessel sizes, berthing speed and structure details and we will confirm a fender and its fixings.
Questions we get asked
About this range
- 01What is the difference between energy absorption and reaction force?
- Energy absorption is how much of the vessel's berthing energy the fender takes up as it compresses; reaction force is the load it passes back into the hull and the quay. A good selection absorbs the energy required while keeping the reaction within what the hull and structure can carry.

Marine Fenders across the Gulf
Ex-stock from Dubai, delivered within 3 working days in the UAE.
Rigging hardware is bought on its working load limit and its certificate, and both travel with the part: every shackle, hook, chain and sling ships from Dubai with the manufacturer's test certificate, so the receiving inspection checks a document against a stamp rather than a claim. Hardware and fittings go by air or courier in cartons; wire rope, chain, hoists and anchors are heavy enough that sea freight is usually the sensible answer.
