Industrial Hoses
Industrial hose carries water, air, fuel, chemicals, steam, food and abrasive material at low and medium pressure, and is chosen first by what flows through it. Indus supplies rubber, PVC, composite, PTFE and stainless steel corrugated metal hose from Dubai, with the couplings sites already run — cam and groove, Storz, Bauer, Guillemin, ground-joint steam couplings and universal air couplings — from Sunpool, Sealfast, Thorburn Flex, Dixon and other makers.
Choose by the medium, then the coupling
Industrial hose is specified by what flows through it. Water, air, oil and fuel, chemicals, steam, food and abrasive slurry each need a different tube compound and construction, and suction service needs a helix that stops the hose collapsing. Pressure and temperature narrow the choice from there.
The coupling is the second decision, and often one made in advance — the site already runs cam and groove, Storz, Bauer, Guillemin or steam couplings. Tell us the medium, bore, working pressure, temperature and what each end connects to.
Coupling standards on this shelf
Cam and groove couplings are made to A-A-59326, which replaced MIL-C-27487, and to EN 14420-7. Safety clamps for steam hose couplings follow EN 14420-3 / DIN 2817, and clamp couplings for steam hose EN 14423. Storz couplings are listed to DIN 14301, including UL-listed fire department connections. Corrugated metal hose assemblies are built to ISO 10380.

Delivery
Industrial Hoses across the Gulf
Ex-stock from Dubai, delivered within 3 working days in the UAE.
Industrial hose and the couplings that go on it are usually bought together, and both ship the same way: bulk lengths on the reel, made-up suction and delivery assemblies crated with their couplings already fitted, and loose couplings boxed. Where the duty is food-grade, chemical or steam the certificate is a large part of what is being purchased, so that documentation is prepared before dispatch rather than chased afterwards.

Questions we get asked
About this range
- 01What do you need to quote an industrial hose?
- The medium (with its concentration and temperature for chemicals), the bore, the working pressure, whether it runs under suction, the length, and the coupling on each end. For chemical service name the chemical — compatibility depends on the tube compound, not on how the hose looks.
- 02Which coupling should a new installation use?
- Usually the one already on site, so hoses stay interchangeable. Cam and groove is the general quick connect for low-to-medium-pressure transfer, Storz is common in fire service and dewatering, and steam lines need couplings and safety clamps made for steam.
- 03Is a suction hose different from a delivery hose?
- Yes. A suction hose carries a rigid helix of steel wire or plastic so it does not collapse under vacuum; a delivery hose relies on internal pressure to hold its shape and flattens under suction. A suction-and-delivery hose is built to do both.
- 04Rubber, PVC, composite or metal hose — what is the difference?
- Rubber hose is the general-purpose choice: flexible, tough and made in compounds for water, air, oil, chemicals, steam and abrasive material. PVC hose is light and economical for water, air and suction and delivery at moderate temperatures. Composite hose builds layers of polymer film and fabric between wire helices, giving a light, chemically resistant hose for fuel and chemical transfer. Stainless steel corrugated metal hose handles very high and cryogenic temperatures, will not let gas permeate and absorbs vibration, and PTFE-lined hose covers the most aggressive chemicals.
- 05What safety factor do industrial hoses have?
- Most general-purpose industrial hose is rated with a minimum burst pressure three to four times its working pressure, depending on the standard it is built to. Steam hose is the exception: hose to EN ISO 6134 carries a 10:1 factor because of the energy stored in steam. The working pressure printed on the hose, not the burst figure, is the limit — and the assembly is only as good as its couplings and clamps.
- 06Which couplings do you supply for industrial hose?
- Cam and groove, Storz, Bauer, ring lock, Guillemin, Barcelona and Geka, Russian GOST, ground-joint steam couplings, universal air (crowfoot) couplings, KC nipples, shank and pin-lug couplings, sandblast couplings, dry disconnects, EN 14420 fittings and industrial flanges, with the clamps, ferrules and menders that go with them.
- 07How do I measure an industrial hose for replacement?
- Measure the inside diameter — hose is sold by bore, not outside diameter — and the overall length including the couplings. Note the coupling type and size at each end, what the hose carries, and its working pressure, temperature and whether it runs under suction. A photo of the printing along the hose and of each coupling usually identifies the rest.
- 08Which industrial hose brands do you supply?
- Sunpool and Sealfast hose and couplings, Thorburn Flex metal and PTFE hose, Dixon couplings, Senior Flexonics, Hose Master and Witzenmann metal hose, and Indus's own rubber and PVC hose lines.

Industrial hose is not hydraulic hose: selecting on the medium, not the pressure
Hydraulic hose is chosen on pressure. Industrial hose is chosen on what is going through it, at what temperature, and whether it has to suck as well as blow.

Brine, chlorine, antiscalants and cleaning chemicals all pass through hose on a desalination plant, and they are chemically very different from each other. Selecting on "water" gets it wrong.
