Stainless Steel NPT & NPSM Pipe Adapters
NPT taper-thread and NPSM swivel adapters in 316L stainless steel, for hydraulic, chemical and food-grade lines.
NPT or NPSM
NPT is a taper thread that seals on the thread flanks with sealant or tape. NPSM is a straight thread on a swivel nut that seals on a 30° seat, so it can be made up without twisting the line. Do not seal an NPSM joint on its thread.
ASME B1.20.1 and B31.3
NPT and NPSM threads are defined by ASME B1.20.1. The pipe-fitting listings carry the manufacturer's pressure ratings to ASME B31.3, by size, for male and female ends.

Delivery
Stainless Steel NPT & NPSM Pipe Adapters across the Gulf
Ex-stock from Dubai, delivered within 3 working days in the UAE.
Hose and fittings are the bulk of what leaves this warehouse, and they travel well: a crated batch of assemblies with its crimp records, or a box of adapters on an airway bill. Buyers outside the UAE usually order to a measured list rather than to a part number, because a hose is defined by its ends, its length and its route rather than by a code. Send those and we will quote against them.

Questions we get asked
About this range
- 01Are these 316 stainless?
- Most families are 316L stainless steel, forged; each listing states the grade the manufacturer gives. Where a listing says stainless steel without a grade, ask and we will confirm before you order.
- 02Do the listings show dimensions and equivalents?
- Yes, where the manufacturer publishes them. Every size is listed with its end sizes; most also carry millimetre dimensions and the Parker part number the manufacturer cross-references.
- 03What is a street elbow?
- A pipe elbow with a male thread at one end and a female thread at the other, so it screws straight into a female port or fitting without a separate nipple. That saves one joint and some length in a tight run. Street tees work the same way, with one male end.
- 04Hex head, hex socket or hollow hex plug — which do I need?
- Choose by clearance and access. A hex head plug is turned with a spanner and stands proud of the port. A hex socket plug takes an Allen key and sits nearly flush, for tight spaces. A hollow hex head plug is lighter and takes either tool. All seal on the NPT taper and need thread sealant.
- 05What is the difference between NPT and NPTF?
- NPTF (dryseal) threads are made so the crests and roots meet as the joint tightens, designed to seal without sealant. Standard NPT leaves a spiral leak path at the crests and roots that sealant or tape must fill. The two screw together, but the joint then needs sealant like NPT. Stainless taper threads are prone to galling, so a sealant with anti-galling properties is commonly used.
- 06How tight should a stainless NPT fitting be?
- Typically hand tight plus two to three turns with a spanner, but follow the maker’s figure for the size. Over-tightening a taper thread can split a female port or gall the thread; under-tightening leaves a leak path. Each remake goes a little deeper, so a heavily reused taper end should be replaced.
