Product description
The R13 Multi-Spiral Very-High-Pressure Hose SAE 100R13 multi-spiral hose with uniform 350 bar working pressure for very-high-pressure hydraulics. Conforms to SAE 100R13.
Construction
- Tube: Synthetic rubber (NBR), oil-resistant
- Reinforcement: Four or six alternating layers of spiralled steel wire (multi-spiral construction)
- Cover: Synthetic rubber, abrasion-resistant, MSHA-accepted, wrapped
Performance
Working pressures up to 350 bar at -12, falling to 350 bar at -32, with a minimum burst of 1400 bar (safety factor 4:1). Continuous service from -40°C to 121°C, with the upper limit reduced for aggressive fluids — ask for a fluid compatibility chart if needed.
Applications
- Hydraulic mining and construction equipment under sustained high load
- Heavy-duty industrial hydraulics — presses, injection moulding
- Off-highway equipment in demanding service
Compliance
- SAE 100R13
- MSHA-accepted cover

Rated for 100 °C, working in a Gulf summer: what the number assumes
Hose temperature ratings are written for the fluid inside. In a UAE summer the hose is also being heated from outside, by air near 50 °C, by sun on the cover and by radiation off the machine — and none of that is in the rating.

Injection moulding machines: heat kills these, not movement
A moulding machine sits still in a clean factory and eats hoses anyway. The hoses are not being flexed or abraded — they are being cooked, next to a barrel that runs hot all day.

Why summer is harder on hydraulic hose than the temperature alone explains
Four things change at once between March and August, and they compound. Hotter fluid, hotter ambient, thinner oil and longer running hours all push in the same direction on the same components.
