TPU Lay Flat Concrete Placement Hose

Light, flexible TPU lay flat hose for concrete and cement placement in two pressure classes — standard to 50 bar and high-pressure to 85 bar: 3" to 5". Supplied in long continuous lengths or as made-up assemblies with couplings fitted, from Indus Hydraulics in the UAE.
Key features
- Application Family: lay-flat concrete placement
- Inner Diameter Range: 3" to 5"
- Max Working Pressure: Standard class 50 bar (5"); high-pressure class 75 to 85 bar
- Operating Temperature: -50 °C to +80 °C (-60 °F to +176 °F)
- Application Family
- lay-flat concrete placement
Product description
A lay flat hose for pumping concrete, grout and cement slurry on construction sites, tunnels and mines. It is light and flexible, so crews can move and reposition the end by hand, and it flattens for transport and storage. The smooth bore keeps flow steady and resists blockage.
Two pressure classes
- Standard class: 3", 4" and 5", 4.5 to 6.0 mm wall, burst 100 to 126 bar
- High-pressure class: 3" to 5", 4.5 to 6.0 mm wall, 75 to 85 bar working pressure, burst 150 to 170 bar
Construction
- Tube and cover: TPU, extruded through the jacket in one pass
- Reinforcement: heavy circular-woven polyester
- Temperature: -50 °C to +80 °C
- Colour: red or green
Pressure
For the 3" and 4" standard-class sizes the published working pressure is inconsistent (925 psi beside 43 bar), so we leave it blank in the table and confirm it with the quotation; their burst pressure is 126 bar. Match the class to the pump's maximum concrete pressure — high-pressure class for long or high pumping lines.
Installation and care
- Unroll the hose fully and lay it out straight before pressurising; a hose pressurised on the reel or with twists can kink and burst.
- Run it along the shortest practical route, away from sharp edges and hot surfaces, and protect it with hose ramps where vehicles cross.
- Raise and lower pressure gradually. Closing a valve suddenly on a long line causes a surge that can exceed the working pressure.
- Stay within the working pressure of the size in use; burst pressure is a test figure, never an operating limit.
- After use, drain the hose, flush it if it carried slurry, fuel or concrete, and roll it flat from the far end to push out what is left.
- Store coils out of direct sunlight and away from sharp objects, and inspect the cover and coupling bands before each deployment.
How to order
Quote the Indus part number, or send the bore, the length you need, the fluid and the end connections. We supply bulk coils or made-up assemblies with couplings fitted and banded. Price and lead time are confirmed with the quotation.

I.D. (mm) — Inside diameter in millimetres with its tolerance, as published. Wall (mm) — Wall thickness in millimetres, as published — a single figure or a band. Description — What this part number is, as the manufacturer lists it. Min burst — Minimum burst pressure. A test figure, never a working limit — never select on it. Weight — Weight of the hose per metre, as published. Tensile strength — Axial tensile strength of the hose, as published — what a lay-flat line can carry hanging in a well or dragged behind a tractor.
Working pressure is the published rating for the hose itself. A made-up assembly is limited by its lowest-rated part, so check it against the coupling, the clamp or ferrule, and the temperature you are running at.

Concrete placement hose: pressure classes, pump pressures and hose whip
Concrete pumps work at pressures that would burst most hose, and the flexible end hose is where crews stand. How boom and line pumps differ, what pressure the placement hose actually sees, how to choose between standard and high-pressure classes, and how to prevent the most dangerous event on a pour — hose whip.

Lay flat hose pressure ratings explained: working, burst and why bigger bores rate lower
A lay flat hose has a working pressure and a burst pressure, and only one of them is a limit. The working pressure also falls as the bore grows — our TPU dewatering hose is 21 bar at 1-1/2" and 10 bar at 16". Here is what the numbers mean, why they change with size, and how to check a line against them, including surge and couplings.

Lay flat hose size chart: inch, DN, inside diameter, flat width, weight and pressure
Lay flat hose is sold by nominal inch size, specified by DN, measured by inside diameter and recognised on the shelf by its flat width — and none of those numbers is quite the same. A single chart that lines them up for 1-1/2" to 16" hose, with weight per metre and working pressure, and how to measure a hose you already have.
