Product description
A lifting hook carries a load in its bowl — on a hoist, a sling leg or a chain.
Sizes and ratings
8 sizes, 1/4″ to 1″. Working load limit alloy 2,750 to 26,500 lbs; carbon 1,950 to 17,600 lbs. Carbon- and alloy-steel versions share a frame but not a rating, so each is its own row in the table. Every size has its own Indus part number in the table below, with the loads in the unit the manufacturer rates them in.
Manufacturer's data
- Minimum ultimate load is 4 times the working load limit (a 4:1 design factor).
Choosing a size
Seat the load at the bottom of the bowl, never on the tip, and use a latch wherever it could bounce free. Carbon and alloy versions of the same hook share a frame but not a rating, so order the row whose WLL covers your load.
Ordering
Quote the Indus part number from the size table, or send the size and working load you need. Each consignment ships with the manufacturer's test certificate; say on the RFQ if your site needs anything more.

Size — Nominal size as the manufacturer states it. Grade — Material grade of this row — carbon and alloy versions share a frame but not a rating. WLL — Working load limit — the most the part may carry in service, as the manufacturer rates it. B — Dimension B on the manufacturer dimension drawing. E — Dimension E on the manufacturer dimension drawing. P — Dimension P on the manufacturer dimension drawing. R — Dimension R on the manufacturer dimension drawing. T — Dimension T on the manufacturer dimension drawing. Weight — Weight as the manufacturer publishes it. Ask us for the dimension drawing if you need it stamped.
WLL is the most the part may carry in service. Proof and breaking loads are test figures — never lift to them. Each load is shown in the unit the manufacturer rates the part in, and a size ships with the manufacturer’s test certificate.
