Large-Bore Storz Lay Flat Hose Coupling, 8" to 12"

Large-bore Storz coupling for 8" to 12" lay flat hose: symmetrical and genderless, so any two ends connect with a quarter turn. Forged shank, re-attachable clamp, anodised aluminium or stainless steel. Supplied loose or fitted to lay flat hose assemblies by Indus Hydraulics in the UAE.
Product description
A Storz coupling sized for large-bore lay flat hose. Storz couplings are symmetrical — there is no male or female half — so any two hose ends lock together with a quarter turn, which speeds up laying long lines and avoids hoses arriving the wrong way round. This version carries the Storz connection up to 12" bore for dewatering, flood relief, frac water and fire water supply lines.
Construction
- Hose shank: forged
- Clamp: re-attachable bolted halves
- Finish: hard anodised (aluminium)
- Materials: anodised aluminium or stainless steel
- Sizes: DN200 to DN300 (8" to 12")
Our standard Storz couplings and adapters cover 1" to 6"; this range continues the system to 12" for large lay flat lines.
Fitting large-bore lay flat couplings
- Cut the hose square and push it fully onto the shank before closing the clamp halves.
- Tighten the clamp bolts evenly, side to side, to the torque given for the size; re-check after the first pressurisation.
- Match the coupling to the hose: lay flat wall thickness varies by class, and a clamp sized for one wall will not hold another.
- Check the working pressure of both the hose and the coupling — the line is limited by the lower of the two.
- Inspect shanks, clamps and seals for damage before each deployment, and keep seals clean of grit.
How to order
Send the hose bore and type, the mating connection at the other end (Storz size, grooved pipe OD, flange standard and rating, or the mating half) and the working pressure. We supply couplings loose or fitted to the hose as assemblies. Price and lead time are confirmed with the quotation.

Lay flat hose couplings: Bauer, camlock, Storz, grooved and flanged compared
A lay flat line is only as good as its joints. Small bores take camlock, Storz or Bauer couplings banded onto the hose; from 4" up, purpose-made couplings with forged shanks and bolted clamps end in grooved, Storz, flanged or high-pressure connections. Here is how each family works, where it fits, and how to fit one so it stays on.

How to repair lay flat hose: cutting out, re-coupling and menders
A cut, a burst fold or a crushed coupling does not have to mean a new hose. Most lay flat damage is repaired by cutting out the bad section and re-coupling, or — on low-pressure lines — joining the ends with a mender. When to repair and when to scrap, how to make each repair properly, and the extra rules that apply to fire hose.

Drinking-water hose and NSF/ANSI 61: what the certification means and how to check it
“NSF 61 certified” is the line buyers look for on drinking-water hose — but what does it actually cover, what does it not, and how do you check that the hose in front of you is the one that was certified? A plain guide to NSF/ANSI/CAN 61, its lead-content partner NSF 372, how to read a listing, and how it compares with UK WRAS and Regulation 31 and the European 4MS approach.
