Product description
The Victaulic Series 700 is a grooved-end butterfly valve for carbon steel, ductile iron and plastic piping. It joins the line with Victaulic grooved couplings, so there are no flanges or flange bolts, and it is rated to 200 psi (1400 kPa / 14 bar) maximum working pressure. This page covers the 3″ size, for 3.500″ (88.9 mm) OD pipe. We can supply it with the standard lever handle or with a lockable handle.

Materials
- Housing: ductile iron to ASTM A536, Grade 65-45-12.
- Body: carbon steel, elastomer-lined. Black alkyd enamel coating.
- Disc: aluminium bronze (C95300 to ASTM B148/B106, or C64200 to ASTM B283) as standard; CF8M stainless steel optional.
- Upper and lower stem: 416 stainless steel.
- Handle: cast ductile iron. O-ring in the same compound as the seat.
Seat options
- EPDM (green colour code): −30°F to +230°F (−34°C to +110°C). Not for petroleum or steam service.
- Nitrile (orange colour code): −20°F to +180°F (−29°C to +82°C). Not for hot water above +150°F (+66°C), hot dry air above +140°F (+60°C), or steam.
The seat grade on each unit is confirmed when we quote — check the colour code on the valve against your service.

What pipe does the 3″ Series 700 fit?▾
Grooved 3″ pipe with a 3.500″ (88.9 mm) outside diameter, joined with Victaulic grooved couplings. It is for carbon steel, ductile iron and plastic piping; with other pipe materials the system designer should confirm compatibility.
What pressure is the Series 700 rated for?▾

Which seat should I choose?▾
EPDM (green colour code) for water service from −30°F to +230°F; it is not suitable for petroleum or steam. Nitrile (orange colour code) for oil service from −20°F to +180°F; it is not suitable for hot water above +150°F, hot dry air above +140°F, or steam.
Can the valve be locked?▾
We can supply the 3″ Series 700 with a lockable handle as well as the standard lever handle. Say which you need on the RFQ.
