DIN 2353 is a thread family in its own right and is NOT directly interchangeable with other families (BSP / JIC / NPT / Metric / ORFS / DIN). Use the appropriate thread-mix adapter (e.g., m JIC × m BSPT) when crossing thread families.

Do I need to crimp this onto a hose?

No — these are tube / port adapters, not hose ends. Use Indus crimp ferrules + Indus hose-end fittings for hose assemblies. These adapters thread into ports or join tube sections.
