Product description
Master links, rings and swivels gather sling legs onto a crane hook, join chain and stop rigging twisting.
Sizes and ratings
11 sizes, 3/8″ to 2″. Working load limit alloy 7,000 to 102,600 lbs; carbon 1,600 to 20,500 lbs. Carbon- and alloy-steel versions share a frame but not a rating, so each is its own row in the table. Every size has its own Indus part number in the table below, with the loads in the unit the manufacturer rates them in.
Manufacturer's data
- Minimum ultimate load is 5 times the working load limit (a 5:1 design factor).
Choosing a size
A master link must take every leg of the sling at once and fit the crane hook without binding. Swivels let the rigging untwist but are not rotating bearings under full load.
Ordering
Quote the Indus part number from the size table, or send the size and working load you need. Each consignment ships with the manufacturer's test certificate; say on the RFQ if your site needs anything more.

Size — Nominal size as the manufacturer states it. Grade — Material grade of this row — carbon and alloy versions share a frame but not a rating. WLL — Working load limit — the most the part may carry in service, as the manufacturer rates it. Inside length — Inside length of the link or bow. Inside width, small end — Inside width at the small end of the link. Inside width, large end — Inside width at the large end of the link. Weight — Weight as the manufacturer publishes it. Ask us for the dimension drawing if you need it stamped.
WLL is the most the part may carry in service. Proof and breaking loads are test figures — never lift to them. Each load is shown in the unit the manufacturer rates the part in, and a size ships with the manufacturer’s test certificate.
