Product description
The No-Skive Crimp Ferrule for R1AT / 1SN Hose is a no-skive crimp ferrule for SAE 100R1AT, EN 853 1SN hose, available across DN6 – DN51 (1/4" – 2").
Construction
- Material: Carbon steel (stainless steel available on request)
- Surface treatment: Zinc-plated with trivalent (Cr3+) passivation, RoHS-compliant
- Crimp method: Crimped over the cover — no skiving required, faster fitting
Performance
Pressure rating matches the host hose grade — the ferrule does not derate the assembly. Fatigue tested to ISO 6803 / SAE J343 impulse cycles when crimped to the recommended diameter on the matching crimp die.
Applicable Standards
- ISO 12151 fitting/ferrule dimension series
- EN 853 / EN 856 / EN 857 (matched to host hose)
- SAE J517 (matched to host hose)
How to order
Specify (a) the host hose grade and bore size, (b) the matching fitting (insert) at each end, and (c) total assembly length plus orientation. Indus crimps and pressure-tests the assembly before dispatch — see the FAQ for our crimping service.

Failure analysis
Crimp too tight, crimp too loose: what each one leaves behind
A crimp is a measured diameter with a tolerance in tenths of a millimetre. Miss it in either direction and the assembly fails — but it fails differently, and the difference is visible on the failed part.

Should you buy a crimper? The real economics of making your own hoses
Sometimes the answer is yes. The machine is rarely the expensive part, the dies usually are, and the thing that decides it is not cost at all — it is how far away your machines break down.

Skiving explained: when a fitting needs it, and what happens if you skip it
Skive and no-skive fittings are not interchangeable, and the difference is invisible once the assembly is crimped. What each does, and why the mistake only shows up under pressure.
