What sizes does the galvanized shackle come in?

What do G-209, G-2130 and G-213 mean?

They are widely used US pattern numbers: G-209 is a screw-pin anchor shackle, G-2130 a bolt-type anchor shackle, and G-213 a round-pin anchor shackle. Shackles sold to a pattern share its dimensions, so they interchange in an existing rigging plan.

What is the difference between WLL, SWL and breaking load?

WLL — working load limit — is the most the manufacturer rates a part to carry in service. SWL, safe working load, is the older term and is sometimes set lower for a particular installation. The minimum breaking load is what the part withstood in test, several times its WLL, and it is never a working figure.

Do the parts come with a test certificate?

Yes. Each consignment ships with the manufacturer's test certificate. For third-party certification or witnessed proof testing, say so on the RFQ.

Product description

A shackle joins a sling, hook or chain to a lifting point and opens with a removable pin. Built to the Italian pattern. Carbon steel, hot dipped galvanized / powder coated / zinc plated.

Choosing a size

Choose on working load limit for the pull you will actually apply. A chain (dee) shackle takes an in-line pull; an anchor (bow) shackle accepts several slings or an angled pull. Side-loading reduces the rating, and a screw pin must be fully seated before loading.

Quote the Indus part number from the size table, or send the size and rating you need. Each consignment ships with the manufacturer's test certificate; say on the RFQ if your site needs anything more.
