Steel NPTF 45° Street Elbow, forged carbon steel, trivalent zinc plated. 9 part numbers, 1/8" to 2"; the size table gives the size on each end and the Parker equivalent for every Indus part number.
Key features
- Body Configuration: 45° street elbow
- Port A Thread: NPTF (Dryseal), 1/8" to 2" (1/8-27 to 2-11.5)
- Port A Sealing: Dryseal taper pipe thread, cut so the crests and roots close up as the joint is tightened, so it seals on the thread
- Nominal Size Range: 1/8" to 2"
- Max Working Pressure: Up to 11,000 psi, falling with size (ASME B31.3 (NPT), manufacturer); see the table

Product description
The Steel NPTF 45° Street Elbow is a 45° street elbow, in forged carbon steel, trivalent zinc plated. Its ends are NPTF (Dryseal) male and NPTF (Dryseal) female. NPTF and NPSM pipe adapters join pipe-threaded ports and swivel ends on hydraulic, pneumatic and lubrication lines.
Construction
- Body: 45° street elbow
- End 1: NPTF (Dryseal) male
- End 2: NPTF (Dryseal) female
- Material: forged carbon steel, trivalent zinc plated
Ends and sealing
- NPTF (Dryseal): Dryseal taper pipe thread, cut so the crests and roots close up as the joint is tightened, so it seals on the thread; ASME B1.20.3.
Sizes
9 part numbers, 1/8" to 2". The Sizes & Part Numbers tab lists the size on each end and the Parker equivalent for every one.
- End 1: NPTF (Dryseal), 1/8" to 2" (1/8-27 to 2-11.5)
- End 2: NPTF (Dryseal), 1/8" to 2" (1/8-27 to 2-11.5)

Parker equivalents
For 9 of the 9 sizes the size table gives the Parker part number the manufacturer cross-references, so a part number taken off existing equipment can be matched to the Indus part number.
Stainless-steel version
The same configuration in 316 stainless steel: Stainless Steel NPT 45° Street Elbow.
How to order
Quote the Indus part number from the size table. If you only have the fitting, send the thread or tube size on each end, and Indus engineering will confirm the part number. Price and lead time are confirmed with the quotation.

Using sealant on hydraulic threads: which joints want it, and which are ruined by it
Tape on a tapered thread is correct. Tape on a cone, a flat face or an O-ring boss is how a good joint is made to leak — and how debris gets into the system.

Stopping an NPT leak: tape, sealant, or neither
A tapered thread seals on the thread itself, which is why it needs help. Every other connector on the machine seals somewhere else, which is why putting tape on it makes the leak worse.

NPT, NPSM and SAE hose fittings: taper, swivel, flare and O-ring boss
Five American hose-end families that get confused because they share inch sizes. Which seals on the thread, which on a cone, which on an O-ring — and how to tell NPT from NPSM before it leaks.
