Which grade should I order — 1770 or 1960?

The grade is the nominal tensile strength of the wire in N/mm². A 1960 rope carries more than a 1770 rope of the same diameter, but it is harder, so it is less forgiving over small sheaves. The size tables give minimum breaking loads for both; state the grade and core on the RFQ.

Do the parts come with a test certificate?

Yes. Each consignment ships with the manufacturer's test certificate. For third-party certification or witnessed proof testing, say so on the RFQ.

Choosing a size

Choose on construction, core and grade: more wires per strand bend more easily over a sheave, a steel core resists crushing, and a higher grade carries more for the same diameter. Work from the minimum breaking load and your design factor.

Ordering

Quote the Indus part number from the size table, or send the size and working load you need. Each consignment ships with the manufacturer's test certificate; say on the RFQ if your site needs anything more.

A wire rope designation such as 6x36WS-IWRC 1770 B sZ tells you almost everything about how the rope will behave. The surprise is how little the construction changes its strength: at 12 mm, the common six-strand ropes break within about 12% of each other. What changes is flexibility, abrasion resistance and crush resistance.
