Product description
The Steel ORFS Male × NPTF Male Branch Tee is a branch tee, in forged carbon steel, trivalent zinc plated. Its ends are O-ring face seal (ORFS) male, O-ring face seal (ORFS) male and NPTF (Dryseal) male. O-ring face seal joints are used where a hydraulic line must stay leak-free under high pressure and vibration.
Construction
- Body: branch tee
- End 1: O-ring face seal (ORFS) male
- End 2: O-ring face seal (ORFS) male
- End 3: NPTF (Dryseal) male
- Material: forged carbon steel, trivalent zinc plated
- O-ring: NBR (Buna-N)
Ends and sealing
- O-ring face seal (ORFS): flat face sealed by an O-ring in a groove on the male face; SAE J1453 / ISO 8434-3.
- NPTF (Dryseal): Dryseal taper pipe thread, cut so the crests and roots close up as the joint is tightened, so it seals on the thread; ASME B1.20.3.
Sizes
8 part numbers, 1/4" to 1-1/4". The Sizes & Part Numbers tab lists the size on each end and dimensions in millimetres for every one.
- End 1: O-ring face seal (ORFS), 1/4" to 1-1/4" (9/16-18 to 1-11/16-12)
- End 2: O-ring face seal (ORFS), 1/4" to 1-1/4" (9/16-18 to 1-11/16-12)
- End 3: NPTF (Dryseal), 1/4" to 1-1/4" (1/4-18 to 1-1/4-11.5)
Pressure rating
The manufacturer describes the ORFS connection as designed for leak-free use to 6,000 psi, and publishes no per-size table for this family. Tell us the working pressure and we will confirm the rating for your size before you order.
Stainless-steel version
The same configuration in 316 stainless steel: Stainless Steel ORFS Male × NPT Male Branch Tee.
How to order
Quote the Indus part number from the size table. If you only have the fitting, send the thread or tube size on each end, and Indus engineering will confirm the part number. Price and lead time are confirmed with the quotation.

Thread size and pitch, by family: the reference table for the bench
JIC 9/16"-18 and ORFS 9/16"-18 are the same thread. They will assemble, and one of them will leak. Every designation and pitch we stock, grouped by family, with the collisions marked.

Where JIC is the wrong choice
JIC is the default on most of this continent and it deserves to be. It is also the wrong answer in four specific situations, and every one of them is a situation where people keep specifying it anyway.
